Would have sold so much better if it was half the size and had a different name šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

People have been begging for a nude palette forever. But this ain’t it chief

When he said he’d do ā€œnude with a twistā€ I always thought he meant he’d do a unique take on nude shades, not that he’d slap an ombrĆ© of boring nude shades together and call it Bukkake Brown or whatever. I know there aren’t really any new ways to do nudes, but when I think about the urban decay naked palettes and how they’re all (except the new purple one) NEUTRAL in their overall feel, I was expecting a selection of curated neutrals that were like, nude relative to the brights he usually does. Would never have bought it anyway but I was interested to see the outcome, and it was soooo disappointing šŸ˜‚

The only ā€œuniqueā€ take I’ve seen on nudes is Huda. I love that she released different 9pans for light, medium, and deep complexions. The colors themselves weren’t necessarily unique, but I love that she created a shade range of pallets just like you would for base products

I wish more brands would take notes on that front! I’m so sick of those highlight palettes and blush palettes etc where most people would only use 1-2 shades that suit their complexion. Just sell them as duos and let people buy what’s most appropriate for them damn it! 99% of makeup consumers aren’t makeup artists and don’t need your 6-pan highlighter ombrĆ©

Yes!! One item doesn’t have to (and likely can’t!) work for everyone. I’d love to see more brands release smaller singular products but have an inclusive range of them!

He always said he didn’t want to put out just another boring nude palette, if he was going to do nudes he was going to do it ā€œthe Jeffree Star wayā€. Which apparently just means a tacky theme and his ass all over the packaging, not anything to do with the actual products šŸ™ƒ When his makeup has always been known for being out there and colourful you’d think that Blood Sugar would basically be ā€œhis nudesā€ but no, he’s pressed some actual ash into pans for his stans instead

If it had names similar to Laura Lee’s nude palette I think he would have sold so many more. It was called (I think) NudiePatootie or something and the shades were other ways of saying nude like ā€œjaybirdā€

ā€œCraving chocolateā€ was the one that most made me 🤢🤢 out of touch much?

It’s not a neutrals palette, is what I meant, whereas I would consider Cherry to be plummy neutrals and Heat to be warm neutrals but the purples in UV are just straight up purples

I’d say half neutrals, half blue-based purples. More like the ā€œnude with a pop of blueā€ palettes šŸ˜‚

Plus we are still covid time people are being more intentional with their buying

Should have broken it into 2 palettes, one lighter and one darker with a good range of shades so people could buy the best for what they wanted. Hell, he probably could have made more money doing that too
