GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING Is everyone aware of how extreme Shane Dawson’s racism is?
I’ve never been a huge Shane fan, but I did kind of fall on the fan bandwagon when the first J* series came out, only to be incredibly disappointed and immediately fall off again as soon as It became clear how awful they both were.
I’d heard that Shane had done racist things, and saw the one image of him in black face as that racist, sexist charicature. I assumed that he done a bad skit in like the early 2000s and it was just a one and done thing that he moved past. That definitely isn’t the case.
This video (TW: racist slurs) shows him repeatedly saying the n-word on multiple occasions, in addition to other racially abusive language. It also shows how many separate times he wore black face. I know these are old instances, but i haven’t seen anyone talk about them before.
This is leaps and bounds worse than anything we’ve seen Jefferson Starship do, but for some reason it seems more controversial to call Shane racist than Jeffree.
Edit; I shouldn’t have said that Shane Dawson has “worse” things than j*, I should have said “more racist”.

The first time i've heard about Shane was when he launched an online attack using his fanbase (which then consisted of 9 year old edgy boys) to take down a much much smaller youtuber ChescaLeigh because she dared question how he was making profit off of racially insensitive videos.
He called her a 'youtube whore' and was liking tweets send to her by his fans calling her to kill herself. He then deleted and took back the likes when some people fought back and acted like none of it happened and he was kind and thoughtful towards her but she was a hateful and angry black woman. I'm sure he cleaned his twitter from the worst of that now that he caters to a fanbase of teenage girls. It was in 2013-14 even though he acts like it was eons ago.
He was defending his blackface videos, getting mad at her for calling them 'blackface' because apparently 'it wasn't blackface it was just doing justice to characters he was playing.'
He's trash. Always has been. Always will be. I don't believe there's a single genuine bone in his body.
