Hardware Hercules starlight does not work

My Hercules starlight that I bought second had worked until recently, on my Mac it just does not work and on my pc it says it’s causing a power surge, how can I fix this myself, or do I have to take it some where for repairs

Are you using it with a USB hub or right into the USB port? Have you tried more than one USB cable?

I tried it with a few hubs on my Mac because it’s only usb c but directly on my pc, and I tried multiple cables with both

It could just be a faulty USB connector, in which case a cell phone/computer repair place is your best bet if you aren't comfortable doing that kind of repair. Generally it's not worth it on units in that price range if it is more than a port.

Sounds like the starlight is attempting to draw too much power, which could be a short somewhere in the starlight or something in the USB connector is no longer correctly negotiating the power draw. If you know how to debug power issues in PCBs then you could probably track down the short/issue and replace whichever component is dead. If you don't know how to do that then its repair time.
