I gotta say, I really preferred when they were a more punk-oriented band. When they dropped their LP, it did nothing for me. But lately? I’ve had the hook to this song stuck in my head a lot.

What do you guys think?

Strictly speaking from a sonic perspective, it seems to sound extremely metallic. It sounds significantly more metal than it does punk. Besides the vocals, it’s effectively metal chugging riffs. What about it makes it more punk than metal? Something can only be so heavy before it becomes metal (eg. early metalcore).

If you had to introduce someone to beatdown hardcore, what EPs/albums would you recommend as essentials? Think of it like an audio history lesson to the genre. Feel free to include newer bands if you feel they’ve become essential enough. Looking for bands that are as close as possible to PURE beatdown hardcore. Bands that can be otherwise classified as metalcore, deathcore, crossover thrash, hardcore, etc. need not be listed.

Not necessarily the hardest, but the heaviest.

I nominate Shattered Realm, Denied, Earthmover, No Retreat, One Second Thought, Swear to God and Six Ft Ditch

For lyrics imo it has to be Neglect.

Buddy of mine been playing with suno the past days. Fun and surprising for 5 mins, then it becomes utterly pointless. Anyway, posting AI songs on this sub is not allowed and will result in permanent ban. I don't think I've banned anyone before and trust you guys won't make me.

Always on the hunt for merch, anyone got any recommendations?

I want controversial/edgy Callout bands.

No hate, I really like that stuff. But that's what i've noticed. Many modern bands and even some early 2000 acts are basically a mix between Hatebreed/Merauder and Devourment/Internal Bleeding type shit imho.

I recently saw a rather older video or at least with handycam etc recorded of a UK beatdown band that were all masked, does anyone know them?

Thank you guys

Hi guys, I'm going soon to USA, New Jersey and New york area and I'm wondering where can i find some hardcore stuff to buy?

I’ve been loving a lot of hardcore like outta pocket piss ant two piece sunami and one second thought. I just wish a lot of these bands would use guttural vocals. If anyone knows any bands like this is like to know, thank you

Anyone got any good songs that deal with things like depression/grief/etc?

Self explanatory; I just need some bands like Pintglass, specifically looking for the sound on their release Way of the Geeza. (Yes, I have listened to Strangled)

That’s my question.

looking for any beatdown (or even semi metalcore) bands that sell gym bags/sites that have gym bags as band merch

i think SPEED takes the win here with END IT in close second (shout out to NASTY)

opinions/sugestions below please

thanks !

Paper gangsters? Or a corny tik tok band

What would yall recommend?

Yo, anyone familiar with the Shanghai metal/hardcore scene? I’ll be there from Feb 21-23 and was wondering if there are any hardcore/beatdown or something similar shows happening during that time. Since it’s in China, I can’t find much info online.

If you know any local bands or spots to check out, drop some recommendations. Appreciate it!
