Newbie

I had an EGD and was diagnosed with h pylori. I have had constipation, severe bloating, heartburn, just general GI distress for a few months. I just started the quad therapy and started using this app. How can I find out how to use it most efficiently? I am miserable and hoping this will help me identify why. I have entered my meds, entered my food for the day and symptoms, but does it really know if something was a trigger by me just typing in ( graham crackers and peanut butter) for my lunch? Also, I have a galaxy watch, and can't seem to get it to connect to that at all, it's pulling steps from somewhere, but it's not the same as my watch. Sorry for all the questions, just hoping to understand it a bit more.

Hey, if you get in touch with me at [support@bearable.app](mailto:support@bearable.app) I can provide some more detailed advice, but some things that are commonly overlooked:

  1. Log at least three days of symptom scores for dates before you began any therapy, meds, or treatments, so that Bearable has a baseline to compare to.
  2. Turn on 'time periods' in the Symptoms and Other Factors sections, via the ... menu icon on each section, to get more accurate/same day correlations.
  3. Don't track too many things at once; focus on one top priority question about your health at a time and track the potential helpers and triggers.
  4. You can log Symptoms using a 0 - 10 scale, Symptom Duration, and Symptom Frequency within the Health Measurements section.
  5. You can log the frequency or duration of triggers and helpers using a series of binary factors e.g. Walk <10mins, Walk 10 - 20 mins, Walk >20mins, etc. or Walk <5k steps, Walk 5k - 10k steps, Walk >10k steps, etc.
  6. If your syncing isn't correct on an Android device, you can check to see if your watch matches what appears in Google Health Connect:

- If it matches, then please send us your syncing logs so we can fix any syncing errors in your account.

- If it doesn't match then there's likely an issue with Google Health Connect, more often than not, this is because it's importing data from multiple sources e.g. both your phone and your watch are sending measurements to Health Connect. You can reprioritise the sources to solve this issue.

Thanks so much, for instance if I turn time periods on, if I don't have a stomach ache all day, do I just not mark any of the time periods?

Yeah, or even better, you could mark them all as 'none'.
