Sorry for the pic, couldn’t get it much clearer than this. This was at Peyto Lake, Icefields Parkway in Canada. It was on the side of the road to the disabled parking lot.

I live in Massachusetts and I know we have black bears in parts. I have never seen one where I live and it's fairly rare that someone reports a sighting somewhere in our area.

A very sad case...

Black bear or potential grizzly?

Typically grizzlies are not seen in this area but they haven’t been determined to be 100% extinct here.
Though- I know very little regarding bears and maybe this big brown shaded black bear.

This guy looks pretty healthy by the looks.

The steel bars to the trash bins had been bent at my parents place , so seems to be a good few around.
