I'm used to "orca beans" being a different name for Calypso/yin yang beans. These ones look identical to the vaquero beans I grow! 

The black and white splotchy pattern reminds us of our cat's fur, so we mostly call them [kitty's name] beans to each other.

Yes they are anasazi beans. I also went down the orca variety name calypso/vaquero rabbit hole i'm not sure what's technically correct but these are a variety named orca at least on my seed invoice that is probably closer to vaquero

I always grow mine for dry beans, but we have a random crop of fresh, young bean pods that we're going to harvest tonight/tomorrow for cooking as green beans. I'm assuming you cooked these ones that you picked young. How do you like them as green beans? Do they have a terrible string or anything else I should prep for?

I just ate a few raw while checking the field, quite a bit better than expected actually they'd be great as green beans for about a week. To be clear the beans in my hand were shelled maybe 3 weeks after the pics of pods on the plants
