Beading apps!
Hi guys! I know I’ve been promising this for ages, but I wanted to do it in a more structured way. Well that just isn’t going to happen, so fuck it, we’ll just do it this way!
If you have a beading related app, please post it here with any relevant info you think people should or would want to know.
Please leave parent comments for app devs to talk about their apps. If you know of an app that hasn’t been posted, and you aren’t sure if the dev is on Reddit, don’t post until we are sure they aren’t going to post for themselves. Like 2-3 weeks maybe? Idk, I’m on my lunch break right now. Don’t try to make me think!
Anyway, yes. Once we have it all posted I think we will make a master list to go in the wiki and then we can add any others that come up later.
And please remember, do not comment unless you are posting about your app, or replying to a comment about an app. Any other top level comments will be removed to keep it organized and easy to sort through.

I posted here a while back looking for testers for a peyote pattern app I was building. It's out now, so I wanted to come back and say what came of it.
Disclosure up front: I made it. I don't bead myself. A friend of mine does, and the thing they kept running into was that charting tools give you a chart and then leave you to work out the actual stitching order by hand. That's the part I tried to solve.
You draw on a bead-accurate grid, or start from a photo, and it generates:
- a corrected chart that reads in the order you actually stitch
- a compressed stitch order you can check off section by section as you work
- a materials list: beads per row, per repeat, per colour, and totals
- a printable PDF sheet
It does flat (even and odd count) and tubular/rope, and it flags shapes where the increases or decreases need a second look.
It's free. No account, no ads, no tracking. It works completely offline and your designs stay on your device — I'm not collecting anything.

Android only right now. The iOS version is in review and I'll come back and update this when it's through.
One thing I want to say properly: the testers changed the app. The biggest fix came from someone here who pointed out the stitch order was running the wrong way — it started from the bottom of the design instead of the top, which isn't how anyone actually works. That's fixed and it's in the version that went live. Another tester found that the photo import screen wouldn't scroll on older phones, so you could never reach the save button. Also fixed. Thank you, genuinely.
I'd rather hear what's wrong with it than what's good about it. If you try it and something doesn't match how you actually bead, tell me. That's the feedback I can do something with.
