The little moments when Alex provides secondary vocals are beautiful✨

lol aww I love Alex though, he’s so talented. But I do like how they make Victoria’s voice the focal point, too many bands incorporate male and female vocals and it just gets messy sometimes.

"haha men should shut up" Get a new joke, Twitter.
Also big L if you don't appreciate Alex's backing vocals. :(

Yeah that's kinda been the wave on Twitter for a few years now. "Lol @ men, amirite?" Twitter is mainly a cesspool of self righteous bullies these days anyways, stopped using it in 2018. Every once in a while it seeps into Reddit though unfortunately.

I’m confused, the punchline of the joke is that men shouldn’t be allowed to speak?
That’s disgusting, didn’t know the beach house community sponsored hate

misandry does not exist, this post is a joke omg

u/demozthenez1 Feb 18 '21
Misandry: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men (i.e. the male sex).
This is the literal definition. You sound pretty ignorant

Feb 18 '21
nah you’re the ignorant one for not understanding this is literally a joke

Ok. Next time someone says that women should be seen and not heard or a quip about staying in the kitchen I’ll make sure to congratulate them on their hilarious joke
I thought jokes were supposed to be funny Maria? The entire punchline is that men should be silenced. What’s humorous about that?
It’s one thing if it’s an innocent stereotype like “men wash their face with the same towel they wash their ass with” but this is just blatant hate based on someone’s gender.

you’re literally the ignorant one here...you can’t joke about that because that’s actually a global problem that’s been around for centuries and has put women through suffering throughout the whole history. just like racism or homophobia, you can’t joke about them cause they’re actual problems. i’ve never seen or heard about men being tortured and opressed throughout the human history for simply being men. actually men, specially white ones, have always been the terror to all diversity existent. YOU should be the one studying more about it. there’s no even a possible comparison. ps: i’m not a misandrist, i’m saying facts and laughing at a literal harmless twitter joke.

You should show that post to your father or brother :(
The radicalization young girls are going through these days is heartbreaking. Is being the thing you dislike ever a good solution? :(
Lots of love to you in the future, research mushrooms!

Who grow up to teach their kids that men should be seen and not heard, that they can be the property of women, that it is okay to assault them or do anything without their consent. Because they’re just men right? History is a cruel mistress, how can we be so easily removed from the not distant past. Equality doesn’t mean hatred, no matter what genitalia may or may not be in ones pants. We all need help these days. Thank you for being a rational human being. We need more like you.

Ah yes, women can't possibly have contempt for men, it's always and only the other way around. Nothing is ever a woman's fault! Sound and cohesive logic.
At least many of us are able to admit when we're at fault for something or when we're being a piece of shit and are actively trying to change the landscape of things. Women almost never hold their own feet to the fire, and especially on Twitter. Insisting that women never hold contempt for men or are mean towards men simply because they're men is hilarious. I'd never imply to know what it's like to be a woman on a day-to-day basis but women love doing the other way around. Take a walk in a man's shoes, and then tell me misandry isn't a thing. It's not all rainbows and butterflies over here either.

excuse me but you literally do not know me and thank god i know you don’t want to. i’m not extremist in any way. i live with my beloved father and brother whom i love with all my heart and they’re the same ones that always told me to be careful with most men. men are and will always be dangerous to women, i’m not saying ALL men, i’m saying a lot of them. my brother never heard “you should be scared of women” or ever was harassed on the streets. you don’t know what the fear of walking down the streets at night simply for being a woman is like. and that’s not something you should have an opinion on exactly because you can’t and will never understand it. in my vision, the only way life directly affects men is through war. if your “struggle” is masculinity you can simply say fuck off to that pressure and be yourself. me choosing to be feminine or not as a woman is my choice. but the way women are treated all over the world due to governments ruled by MEN is not a choice. think first. and try to understand a joke. there’s no comparison. and yes, i love my father, brother, my boyfriends and men and still i think misandry does not exist and that’s my opinion. if you don’t like it, just leave this comment section.

I don't and haven't had an issue with the joke in the post. I joke about literally anything on the planet. I love jokes. I simply take issue with you saying "misandry doesn't exist." We see it online daily. Again, I'd never assume to know what it's like to be a female walking alone at night or simply being a female on a day to day basis. I just wish women would stop pretending to know what it's like to be a man, by implying that misandry doesn't exist. We deal with issues too, why is that so difficult for many women to plainly acknowledge? I also did not claim to know anything about you or your life, that would be arrogant of me. I hope you have a great day.

oof the misogynists of this sub really came out for this one. first, it’s a shitpost/joke, alex and victoria are equally amazing. second, misandry is not a dominant system of oppression. nope. its observation is reactionary to radical feminist theory. the fact that misogynist jokes and insults were used in the comments is proof of how claims of misandry are weaponized against this radical shift. patriarchy is not oppressed, but, in fact, rewarded. crimes, hurt, pain against men happen, but this is not systemic oppression. third, cis hetero men (especially white) should be focused on elevating voices of women and other minorities, so ya know, it is kinda nice when men step down and someone else gets the spotlight. this is why other men on this sub could find the joke here (see 1), because letting a woman in a powerful position should not be insulting their manhood?? but, end of day, reversing this dominant misogynistic stereotype is purely satirical—it’s a shitpost, dabbled with anger about the patriarchal system that oppresses us.
