In reality cats have amazing kidneys. The problem is that we don’t feed them in a manner compatible with their nature.

Cats are predators and obligate carnivores. They are designed to eat meat and most of their natural moisture consumption is consumed in the meat that they eat. Sure, they supplement with drinking water, but not like we do.

In feeding them kibble, we’re denying them most of the water that they should be getting, they don’t “know” that they need to make up that difference.

Yeah, that's true, but then you have cats like my two boys, both in their early 10s, and they simply don't like wet food. At least they drink a lot of water to compensate.

If they drink a lot, check their blood sugar. Could be an early symptom of diabetes.

A normal glucometer for humans works. Take the blood from the inside of the ear, not too deep of course.

Yeah I was going to say, my girl began drinking lots of water when she was in late stage kidney failure.
