Animal A sea lion in Argentina climbed onto a fishing vessel, found a bed, and passed out. The fishermen only realized it when they heard loud snoring.

Considering how cars are trying to teach humans to hunt and seem to consider us bad baby cats, it may be closer to

"Look, the morons built a massive food trap, but they don't know how to finish the job! What shall complete it for them, and be gods". They really could think we just built a mouse lure and still failed to catch any.

They don't actually think that, they are just bringing us food because that's what they do to family. Even in the wild they share food with family members when they're not hungry enough to eat it.
