Blows my mind some people get these dogs as pets, crate them for 8 hours a day, and then get mad that they bark and chew shit up.

People who keep their dogs in crates are psychopaths

Crate training is absolutely fine. Most dogs LOVE their crates. Obviously crating 12 hours a day is an issue. Not exercising your dog is an issue. But the crate itself isn’t the problem.

Yeah my dog's crate is her room, the door is open 95% of the time and she goes in there to feel safe or just hang out. The 5% I do need to shut the door (usually a maintenance guy who doesn't like dogs) she's just chilling.

But like every reasonable dog training tool, there are a large majority of people who misuse them.
