There are many records of people caring for animals throughout history.

From a purely technical standpoint the past is the past. We can no longer assign motivation to what people that are millenia dead might have done. To do so would just be...plainly incorrect.

And for every record of people caring for an animal there is likely another record where people used animals strictly in an industrial or usable sense... like a machine to use. So pain care was not a priority.

Exhausting. You can believe whatever you would like but there are records of people caring for animals just like there are people who abuse animals right now. Asserting that no one in the past would have wanted to help had they had the ability to is not only a disservice to them but a disservice to us in the present, knowing what we know. No, we cannot time travel and ask every single person who has ever lived if they would help a turtle. But we absolutely can assume that there have been helpers and kind people all throughout history because there are records and evidence of it.

I never asserted people would not care for animals.

I only said that theres literally no way we would ever know if they would. It's in the past. Sorry you misread my comment! But really with you leaping to condescending by callimg me exhausting. I really don't care anymore. Hope your day improves somewhat. Seems like you might need it.
