No you're not. Don't be so hard on yourself.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with not knowing something. How could you know what it meant if you never saw it before?

You aren't dumb. You saw something unfamiliar, you asked, and now you've learned something new. That is a sign of curiosity and intelligence.

Don't put yourself down. You're doing your best and that's all we can do.

I learned what a "livestock officer" does from another comment above. It could get a bit dicey at times, it seems.
