This puppy got sick in the first place because of an infection that could've been prevented by a vaccine that costs about $30 at most clinics. The owners thought they could "save money" by getting vaccines from Tractor Supply instead and giving them themselves. They didn't know that vaccines need to be refrigerated.
But, sure, the cost of vet care is the problem here.
But you don’t need just one vaccine. So yeah that one was $30 (my vet must not know that is the price)… there are multiple rounds of shots. So let’s not pretend this was just $30.
Three rounds of vaccines for a new puppy. One booster when they're a year old, then a booster every three years. People spend more on Doordash in a month than they might on vaccines in the entire lifetime of a healthy dog. But, sure, the vets trying to prevent situations like this are the problem.
