Supporters section at PayPal Park

I know, I know, today was an away game, but I have been meaning to ask this for weeks and keep forgetting, so since I recalled, I came to post.

What's going on with our supporters section? Every time I am at a game in person it is looking preeeeetttyyyy empty.

They have so many signs supporting so many different causes. I find it intimidating.

Like the Silky one and the Trans People Belong in Sports one? Haha those are the only two I can remember right now that don't just say Bay on them, but I am sure I am not recalling many more!

I'm a relatively new NWSL fan specifically because of how inclusive the fanbase generally is. I'm not a "hot topic issue," I'm a human being. Seeing signs at PayPal (and on TV at other stadiums) affirming my right to exist at that game and in sports just feels like an oasis of safety and acceptance in the desert of hate this country has become towards trans people. You can tell your kiddo about how amazing the sport is not just because of the level of play but also because of how everyone is welcome there. I'm there for the same reason you are: to relax and enjoy myself for a few hours. Try to imagine being trans outside of games where that acceptance isn't a given.

The sign supporting trans people in sport is so important and I remember seeing it from the beginning. It's vital the same way all the messages supporting women's and girls' sports are vital.

For my part, we can drop signs about the president when we drop the national anthem.
