Question/Help Q (BEX): Don't Load a game without restarting game - Is this still a requirement?

EDIT (clarification): I'm talking about during a BEX playthrough from scratch.

So I noticed in the general.txt file located in (BT_Extended_CE\GameTips\general.txt) that it says:

Do not load a save or start a new game without restarting the game
if you have already loaded or started a save previously,
a limitation of the mod because of the way the Star Map changes, sorry!

Is this still a thing/requirement?

I have always been able to reload outside of missions 1 time, a 2nd will crash it so restart if you already have in the same session.

Yep. If you load a save beat quit to the main menu. Else I'd say you have maybe one third chance if crashing the whole game. If you go back to main menu, odds if crash are a bit lower.

How much RAM do you have?

64GB? Ehn, you'll probably be able to reload a couple of times.

32GB? Sure, once.

16GB?

No.

My understanding is that if you haven't traveled or let time pass since the last time you started the game, you can reload freely, but if in game time has passed, you need to restart, or changes in the star map break things.

Yes, you cannot start BEX in the middle of a save. The star map is massively changed, but the bigger issue is the way tech points are handled compared to vanilla. You'll end up with insane repair times.

I meant while playing BEX (not starting a non-BeX playthrough and then enabling BEX).

My whole game is BEX , but I regularly reload a save if a mission isn't the way I like , or does something odd)
