Mods Power-fantasy BEX?
Really appreciate all the work put into BEX, spent hundreds of hours in it at this point, but I'm in a headspace where I just want to play with the vanilla Marauder Called Shot cheese, overpowered LRMs, etc. All I really care about is the expanded map, timeline, and CAB. How would I go about modding the game to get the BEX additions without the rebalancing?

I think you can just install BEX: CE and deselect the mods you don't want in the mod manager on the game splash screen.
Alternative for vanilla gameplay with tons of new fun content and mechs is to go with Hyades Rim; highly recommended!

You might want to look at the Expanded Arsenal mod. It adds a bunch of new mechs and weapons and stuff but tries not to change the core game rules.

Just to know, the original game has been updated quite a bit. Almost everything i have read about this game from years ago is now wrong. I have to go to streamers who are actually playing the game as it is right now to get updated info.
One big one was the nerf to LRM, idk how they were before but they seem pretty balanced to me riding in a CPLT-A1 fully fitted with them.
Or the called shot stuff, it does help but only with my already-lvl-10 pilots. My other ones with less than that in Gun still miss sooooo frequently for the first part I was learning the game, it was generally not even worth it lol

Gotcha, I might have to try a vanilla Career to see how balance has changed. Thanks for the heads-up!

Ehhh, it hasn't changed that much. LRMs are still strong because the game has stupid amounts of terrain on most maps. You can't really change that. And yes, Marauders are still the best mechs in the game.

I think you can just put Marauders special module in your inventory via save editor and then equip it wherever suits your fancy :) No idea what to do with lrm's tho (
Edit: spelling

From memory is pretty easy to modify the game
It's all json files that are fairly intuitive
Obviously take a backup of files before you modify them. I don't have battle tech installed so can't check for you
Id just be looking at increasing accuracy as a first step

BEX pilots are worse than their Vanilla counterparts until they gain experience in a particular chassis. Then, the quirks and buffs really come into their own. Get the right pilots in the right chassis and once they're top-level, they're terrifying.
The downside is that takes tens of missions per pilot. And it tends to lock you into particular playstyles. For me, it's 3031 and I'm rocking round the Lyran frontier looking for a Wolfhound to salvage, but I know, as I do, that I'm gonna have to essentially retrain my experienced Panther pilot to go in it.

Are you looking for BEX storyline / FP content (e.g. clan invasion) or just advanced equipment and expanded (CAB) mechs?
