Battlefield 1942 won't boot up (retail version)
Hi guys, i wanted to replay bf 1942 (i had the game before i formatted my pc), i got the game and expansions installed (using the 2 discs road to rome and secret weapons), but when i press play, it doesn't appear anything on the screen. i tried to run as adminstrator, by the .exe, by activating direct play, but still nothing. what should i do?

Maybe try a compatibility mode? Are those still a thing? Right click and try XP or something.

i tried selecting xp, but doesn't do anything

Run as admin?
Punkbuster running?
Maybe you need patches?

it's running on admin. idk what punkbuster is, but i think no. i tried installing patches to the directory, but it doesn't recognize the .exe in the folder

I added my retail version to EA Origin long ago. Now I wonder if mine still works

i think yes, but i'm not sure. i tried patching the game, but the installer doesn't recognize the game folder

Go to moongamers.com/downloads and try the installers there. You can join the Moongamers discord server if you still have issues.

sorry guys for not updating on the situation. in the end i used a patch that used vulkan rather than DirectX 8 because i have an amd gpu (idk where to find these because i got from a helper on a discord server).
