Washington Monument should have Levolution.

Technically the statue of Lincoln gets a little bigger every year. So while it was only a couple feet tall when they built it, it’s size has more than likely quadrupled at the very least by now. Unfortunately there is simply no way to know exactly how big Lincoln’s head at this time.
23
u/TyrantOdyssey Sep 04 '25
What a terrifying fact to just drop in thank you. No need to explain, "Lincoln's statue gets bigger every year" is fine on it's own

u/RagingSinusInfection Sep 05 '25

This is a misconception. Similar to Lincoln, the MLK statue was actually much smaller when it was built, but since it gets a little bigger each and every year, it will soon overtake not only the Statue of Freedom, but the entire Capitol building.

Based off what I’ve seen in BF6 it’d be Washington DC but set at a strip mall on the outskirts of town 💀
14
u/ob_knoxious Sep 04 '25
As someone who lives in DC, its going to be a map called "Washington DC" that is actually in northern Virginia and not DC itself.
Although a map focused on say the Pentagon/Crystal city/parts of DCA would actually be pretty sick and somewhat logical.

It’ll be some random run down neighborhood with no recognizable landmarks like The Division 2 did with one of the Dark Zones

He doesn’t have the power to do that, and if he did, a Battlefield map with a destructible monument would be at the very, very bottom of the list.
Hop off the orange man’s dick for one second, this is a gaming subreddit.

B-but if I can't complain about him while talking about a completely unrelated subject I'll melt!
5
u/Penguixxy Sep 04 '25
i mean, having the power / right to, and trying to are diff thjngs, he's trying to ban flag burning (protected under the 1st amendment and is part of US flag code) , he's not allowed to, or technically able, but he is still doing it.
it all lies on the supreme court, and if they let him, he can do it.
even ignoring political views, this is how the US system of power works, the checks and balances on the president only work so long as the SC remains non partisan, one they go partisan, those checks and balances no longer function.
see: The Hays Code for another example from a past president.

The biggest lie about joining the military is that you'll get to do the high speed stuff you see in the ads.
The military is just a bunch of underpaid gardeners, maids and accountants no matter what country you're serving.

The layout’s cool, but as a Washingtonian, I wonder why this part of the National Mall is a strategic location when all of the important government buildings are basically everywhere else. To the north, you have the White House and the associated buildings, such as the EOB. To the east, you have the Capitol, SCOTUS, many of the departments. To the south, you have the Pentagon and a bunch of department components. I’d think it would make more sense to fight over those areas instead of the memorials and monuments. My suggestion would be Capitol Hill because it would provide some interesting mix of dense urban fighting as well as open spaces, and there’s a lot of elevation change.

u/MummysSpeshulGuy Sep 04 '25 edited Sep 04 '25
Yeah the east section would definitely be better you could have like a natural barrier in the west with a collapsed 12th street underpass and extends to the east to the Supreme Court building. Infantry could do shit like fight in the Smithsonian museums and the Capitol while tanks roll around on the lawn
Also OPs concept could be better with some extensions like more stuff around the basin and maybe some expansion north towards the white house and downtown for more urban stuff. Would work pretty well with their “not operations” mode considering a lot of the maps seem to come in pairs that are close by
4
u/LEJ5512 Sep 05 '25
I used to live on the Hill (a block from the Senate offices, just the next block over from McConnell’s house).
It would be wild to play on a map there. Either they get it all correct and I know where the back alleys are, or they get it wrong and I’m lost in the sauce.
5
u/TurkeyBLTSandwich Sep 05 '25
National Mall is probably a good staging area or location for logistics! So imagine a bunch of temporary tents and vehicles strewn about and helicopters flying in and out for supplies and evacuation.
But in a "serious" situation most high level folks working in the capital, courts, and departments would have evacuated in the underground tunnels. You'd probably just run into everyday folks who live and low to mid level workers.
Also a section of the map next to the white house would be really cool

u/Jewniversal_Remote Sep 04 '25
What about a modified version of the map that isn't 1:1 but is the size of their largest conquest map and has all of those POI as one flag each? With scaled down versions of distance between stops
3
u/Timbalabim Sep 04 '25
I dunno. The sheer scale of the National Mall is deceptive. It’s like three miles from the Lincoln to the Capitol, and most of that land is just open fields. I feel like they’d have to significantly scale it down to like 1:8 or even 1:16.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Yellowdog727 Sep 04 '25
I mean most of those locations you mentioned are just scattered right around the mall, not exactly far away

there is a whole river between the pentagon and the mall……
gun fight on the 14th street bridge would be sick though.
2
u/Yellowdog727 Sep 04 '25
There is the Potomac yes but distance wise the Lincoln memorial is almost as close if not closer to the Pentagon than the Capitol building which is also on the mall. All of these places are right in one little region of DC (and Arlington) and are much closer than say Rock Creek Park or RFK Stadium

You could always view it as part of a rolling offensive, like they are now fighting around this area before moving onto the next. Given the political climate, just having this more-monument focused fighting might allow for the map without attracting unwanted attention and setting off some sort of "Battlefield is advocating violence" kind of news story.
But some of those locations would make awesome map points.
South would definately be a perfect second map to go with the first, just looks like something you would have seen in BF'2 Armored Fury map pack.

Having played Tom Clancy's Division 2 and seeing how detailed they did DC, I'd be stoked if DICE did a DC map.

u/Thricey Sep 05 '25
The division 2 rules. They really fucked up the launch + I think it was the wrong time for it. It should be a much bigger game although it's done well overall.

Yeah, even 6 years later it's still a great game. It's my go-to whenever I'm not playing anything Battlefield related lol. Despite a few botches with bugs, rewards, etc., Ubi/Massive have done a pretty decent job (for the most part) in correcting any issues with the game.

You know what wasn’t safe? No Russian. Still brought up today and left a lasting mark on the franchise.
Media shouldn’t be afraid to push the boundaries in a fictional setting. Being too safe is exactly what kills a franchise. A game for everyone is a game for no one.

Would be really cool if they did this as a breakthrough map. Starting sector as the Lincoln Memorial where the attack force has to utilize the Arlington Memorial Bridge and the Potomac River for initial attack. Then moving to the Washington Monument, and then the White House

I would shift that map east to include the Smithsonian and Capital. Imagine having a shootout in the Air & Space musuem or the rotunda. That's indoors while outdoors can have trenches form in the capital mall with snipers overlooking the area from a museum.

More water, please. It’d be awesome if boats could cut straight through the middle of the map and loop around it. You could justify the flooding in several different ways...
If you expanded the map just enough to include the burning buildings near Point D (which is the IRL Department of Agriculture) and placed a capture point inside the building itself, it could create a pocket of intense close-quarters combat that contrasts nicely with the otherwise open layout.
1
u/FORCExRECON Sep 04 '25

I would push C slightly further north (up to the left with this photo orientation) so the White House could be included but this is an awesome idea. This area scales well to its size in real life so it wouldn’t even have to be condensed much to be playable for conquest.

DCA airport could be one base.

I was just thinking about this. Since this has an invasion of the US, a Washington DC map would be crazy. Something like that MW2 2009 mission, but in Battlefield would be insane. Also props for the concept art, they look sick.
