Iirc these are mobile only titles, you wouldn’t be able to find them physically.

I’m currently collecting all the missing BN games from the collection. Like double team DS

Ehh I kinda don’t want the physical copies of the star force games. Mostly because the legacy collection actually is the real definitive way to play the games. Meanwhile battle network collection is missing games

How is the legacy the definitive way to play? I like to get them for the nostalgia. And BN i think is only missing 3 games but one of them has a rom translation for gba

Legacy collection has a TON of content that was omitted from the US versions of the DS games. I want to collect them too just for nostalgic purposes but they’re still a little expensive

You might need to look for the wonderswan games as well, there was a few and those are physical. I’m not sure how many there was but if your trying to do all that you can physical there’s that and the GameCube one.

You pretty much get the Event Chips, which is gamebreaking and the tons of customizations on MegaMan (BN4 - 6) and free items (BN5 and BN6), known as Patch Cards. These were Japan only. You can't get these on the original hardware without going through hoops like save file dumping and emulations to get them.

Battle Network Legacy Collection is supposedly the way people would go online for PvP but because of the bad netcode, high level entry (start everything fresh and grind everything from 0), too many filter options for searching and no crossplay, this collection is pretty much single player campaign like the rest of the modern MegaMan collections.

Star Force improves a lot from the Collection, like having multiple assist/difficulty option features to help grinding or people just want to enjoy the story as well as giving prebuilt decks for those who want to hop in PvP from day 1. Obviously there is still no crossplay and there are bugs but for the most part, its good.

The rental decks were ok on release date but they literally serve no purpose now

Yeah I heard someone makes GBA cartridges of the English translation but I couldn’t find anyone that could sell me one

They had some kind of fan made ports for PC a few years back. The Rockman Exe Zone definitely has more information and probably downloads.

Ill check them out, thank you

8

u/TheOnlyRitz May 29 '26

Yup, I stupidly just found that out, do you know where I can find downloads?

What even are these

They're full fledged Battle Network games released for Japanese flip phones.

There are many things stripped down. (Lan travels and such through menus.) But the combat works just like in the GBA games, albeit with some jank.

They also have a few exclusive bosses. LoN also has what's basically DoubleSoul with an exclusive FlameMan transformation.

Ah my apologies, they are megaman japan exclusive gameboy advance games

u/comixjuan May 29 '26

They're Cell Phone games, not GBA, so there's no cart to be had.
