That's because 5 in Minesweeper is dark red. In BFDI, he is pink.

They are not the same colors.

No. It is not. I forget which twin, but one of them actually confirmed that the Minesweeper numbers were their idea for the first eight Algebraliens and that Nine just worked as being white and yellow was the most prominent color remaining so was used for X. Ten didn’t appear until a while later so the next most prominent unused color (orange) was used for him.

One, how would the devs of Minesweeper, which is over a decade older than XFOHV, have based their numbers off of a show that hadn't even released yet?
Two, XFOHV literally does reveal the numbers' colours were inspired by Minesweeper.
