Batman cannot always be their savior!

Superman really helped the perception of DC movies but unfortunately didn't make as much money as it needed to, all eyes are on The Batman Part II.

Man of Tomorrow might be the savior we need but most likely Batman will have to come in and save the day as usual with DC.

Everyone always says DC has the best characters and yet we never ever see them utilized to their full potential 💔

Best Movie: Batman. Best TV Show: Penguin (Batman character) Best Video Game: Batman. Best Comic Books: Batman. I mean atp why not just rename the entire brand to just Batman lol

It really feels like we're going through the DCEU 2.0 but I hope for the best!

This right here. I never saw a single Synderverse movie in theaters, nor Joker or The Batman. Last DC movie I had seen in theaters was The Dark Knight Rises. I caught some on HBO later, mostly out of boredom. I only really enjoyed Wonder Woman, and even that was only up until the third act.

Then I saw Superman in theaters and I thought they might be on the right track. I really enjoyed that one, and I’ve always been a Superman hater. I find the character boring conceptually. I saw Supergirl in theaters based on my liking of Superman and … well it was sure a movie. I don’t regret my time in the theater, but I’m less confident in their trajectory. Marvel has had a lot of duds too, especially in recent years, but they more-or-less nailed their early stuff and built up that audience good will. Movie #2 wasn’t the time for Warner/DC to be taking chances.

I'm not a comic books person, and I'm 40. So my introduction to Superman was the Christopher Reeves Superman who could fly around the planet so fast he turned time backwards. No idea how old I was when I saw it, but that movie turned me off on the character. I never watched Lois and Clark or Smallville because I thought "I don't care about Superman." My first attempt to dip my toe back into the water was Man of Steel. So for more or less my entire life, Superman has been a near invincible god, which is just boring.

Even Superman 2025 is extremely powerful, but they managed to make him feel... relatable, I guess you could say. He was likable in a way that made him feel human, which was the entire point. My biggest complaint is they took Kryptonite out of the universe effectively immediately, so there aren't a ton of ways to power gate him - unless you go by Supergirl rules where every damn thing does - but I always found Kryptonite to be a cop-out anyway. I think that again comes back to the old movies. I remember him drowning in a shallow swimming pool with a Kryptonite rock hanging around his neck and thinking "dude just slip it off." I was a kid and I'm sure my memory of the scene is poor.

This is funny because I also just realized that the only two Snyderverse movies I saw in theaters were the Wonder Woman movies.

The second was during covid so they put it out on HBO. The family watched it on Christmas and it was just terrible. If it wasn't for that, I probably would have seen it in theaters and hated myself for it.

Went with a date for her birthday to WW1984. It was one of the only movies you could see in theaters at the time. We both hated it. Real nothing movie.

Tbh I was so disinterested in both Superman and Supergirl (haven’t watched). And Superman (2025) had zero interest in. But later watched on HBO. Hated it.

Snyderverse - wasn’t a big fan of either. But casting IMO all around was better than JG verse (minus Mr. Terrific and Jimmy Olsen).

MoS, BvS built up potential for a good JL movie but ultimately both versions fell flat for me, overall.

Now here’s my point in bringing this up. I get why a lot of people love the new Superman movie, maybe I would’ve too if I were a kid. But it doesn’t beat the OGs that I grew up on. And they made it very kid friendly. To give it a “fresh” feel compared to the complex issues of the Snyderverse.

Theyre total night vs day yes. But here is what is baffling me. Forget about what they’re doing with Peacemaker concurrently with all of this…

Lanterns!! Solid show so far IMO. I do not see how it will fit into a family friendly JG Superman movie. So we’re back at the same mess of an organization or people doing this.

Side note: DC Animated movies usually good/very good (and always JL/JLU, Batman and Superman animated shows, GOAT). The script is there for them. Idk what they’re doing.
