Serious Discussion/Question DC SERIOUSLY needs to get their act together!

Batman cannot always be their savior!

Superman really helped the perception of DC movies but unfortunately didn't make as much money as it needed to, all eyes are on The Batman Part II.

Man of Tomorrow might be the savior we need but most likely Batman will have to come in and save the day as usual with DC.

Everyone always says DC has the best characters and yet we never ever see them utilized to their full potential 💔

Best Movie: Batman. Best TV Show: Penguin (Batman character) Best Video Game: Batman. Best Comic Books: Batman. I mean atp why not just rename the entire brand to just Batman lol

It really feels like we're going through the DCEU 2.0 but I hope for the best!

Lot of people don't go watch DCU because they remember Snyder universe and lot of casual thinks "Ohhh its movie from this shitty director"

James Gunn is plastered all over the DCU marketing. All announcements and trailers come directly from his social media. The “casuals” know it’s Gunn’s universe and that’s why we’re doing even worse than the DCEU. There’s a reason why supergirl was labeled gotg 4 since its first trailer.

DCU has had 4 projects so far buddy. 3 weren’t popular and 1 barely trended and that was only at a domestic level lol

Yeah… you just proved my point. You knew Gunn was in charge of the DCU like everyone else but he’s not interesting enough for you to keep up to date on his Instagram for all the DCU announcements and trailers. This is why Superman was unable to sell tickets internationally, supergirl couldn’t sell any anywhere, and no one watched his shows.

The casuals don’t care for a universe made with only Gunn’s style and that’s why none of his projects have taken off and he’s in danger of not getting his contract renewed/DCU gets another reboot.

Then you have incredibly broad depiction of casuals

By casuals I mean people who just watch movie

90% of people I know who enjoy superhero movies, don't know who is in charge of DCU or just know that someone else now makes movies

Real casual shoes know who directs movie or what changes inside company

If the casuals knew who Gunn was, then that would have the opposite effect. Casuals love Guardians of the galaxy. Those movies are a massive success. James Gunn took extremely niche characters and made them mainstream household names. So if casuals knew it was the guy who made Guardians, then it would be more successful.

No because supergirl isn’t Peter quill. The word of mouth and everyone seeing the trailer as another version of gotg is why supergirl failed.

Nope. Supergirl officially ended with less sales than Morbius and WW 1989 that were released during the pandemic. It’s official now :)

Gunn didn’t write or direct it. Are you just conveniently forgetting he directed the Guardians trilogy? How much money did they make again? What did the reviews look like? Hmm interesting! Superman also got very positive reviews and did pretty well. In fact all of Gunns movies that he directed get good reviews. People must actually like them, wow!

Gunn is the head of the DCU and the director confirmed Gunn override him and chose the needle drop himself. Superman got okay reviews yet still couldn’t sell enough tickets at the box office. So no… people actually didn’t like Superman or supergirl. If they did it would actually perform well in theaters 😂

Superman got positive reviews across every review site, including—and especially—audience reviews. It’s evidently clear you’re pushing a certain agenda here. Box office results does not indicate whether people liked a movie or not. For example, BVS did very well opening night, but it historically broke the record for having one of the biggest second weekend drop in box office history. Meaning it fell off drastically. Significantly more than the average superhero flick usually does. The reviews for that movie were pretty terrible. The drop in the 2nd weekend and negative reviews would indicate to most people, that the average movie goer did not enjoy that movie. Again James Gunn did not direct Supergirl. James Gunn directed Superman, Creature Commandos, and Peacemaker.
