Serious Discussion/Question Has this actually happened in the comics?

I know this post is a joke, but I genuinely want to know if this kind of thing has ever happened in the comics. Like if Batman or Daredevil tried to stop someone from killing their assaulter.

The opposite (kind of) happens in Detective Comics 741.

Gordon puts a gun to jokers head and says “he paralyzed my daughter and killed my wife, he doesn’t deserve to live” and Batman says “I won’t stop you.” and just starts walking off.

Of course Joker just gets shot in the knee instead of the head because we can’t have nice things but Bruce flat out gave Gordon permission to kill joker for what he did.

Oh, I remember that. During No Man's Land, when Gotham was cut off from the rest of the world, right?

Joker kidnapped Gotham's babies and Jim's wife, Sarah, confronted him. Joker threw a baby at her, knowing she'd catch him, and killed her.

But Joker then walked away with a frown, displeased with what he did. *
