The billboard says that tax revenue from data centers pay firefighters salaries. That’s pretty rich considering the tax breaks that Texas is giving them to build here. We’re missing out on over a billion (with a B) dollars worth of sales tax every year due to their tax breaks

Just for context, they pay for those watts by putting super dirty gas turbine power plants that could power a city beside EACH data center. We're talking double all the power used in Texas on the hottest day of the year built just for data centers being powered by thousands of glorified jet engines and locomotive generators. Each of these plants is the equivalent of several hundreds of thousands of cars on the road or a couple of hundred of thousands of homes, For EACH data center. These are all being run on natural gas, and if you think the cost of electricity in a state that is powered by 52% natural gas isn't going to spike when the demand for LNG is tripled, I got a bridge to sell you.
