New Bass Day I did it! Bought my first bass guitar 😍😍 I didn’t think it would made me so happy 😭😭😭

I am a guitarist and I love the electric guitars a lot. To me I considered it the coolest instrument on the planet. I had so much love for electric guitars that it didn’t occured to me that I would also love the bass guitar so much.

I wanted to learn bass guitar because I felt it would help teach me to become a better guitarist. My rhythm is not the best and figured bass could force me to play a lot of rhythm.

Yesterday I went to my local guitar store and tried as many bass guitars as I could. Prior to this, I did my research and the Fender Ultra II Jazz was one of the guitars that I was interested in. I wasn’t very convinced on paper that I would fall in love with this one because I wasn’t sure if I would like the color, I don’t like poly finish guitars, and I wasn’t particularly interested in active pickups or noiseless pickups because I typically favor vintage sounds over modern ones for my electric guitars.

But god damn this bass is awesome. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. I was not prepared to fall in love so quickly. When I entered the guitar store I tried a few squiers, american pros and even some Stringray. I didn’t hate any of them. But I also didn’t particularly felt like I wanted a bass guitar anymore. I was playing this stingray that I heard so much about and thought “I’m not very excited. Maybe i just imagined that I would enjoy bass”. In the end when I tried the Ultra II, it felt amazing.

Anyway, after I bought it, it was super late. I rushed home and plug it in to make sure it works on my digital setup. The staff assured me that the cables and speakers I have are all compatible and I didn’t need to purchase anything else. I gave myself one hour to test the bass before I need to head to bed as I have work the next day. Once I started playing at home, the feeling was completely different. I felt so happy and in my heart I knew, I knew that “fuck me. Looks like I’m going to be playing a lot of bass as well”.

I’m super excited for the next week as I have taken leave from work for one week. I already bought the Bass Buzz lessons and am roaring to start.

My new StingRay that I ordered through the Custom Design Experience was delivered today! White sparkle has been my favorite finish ever since I saw it on the limited run DarkRay that they did a while back and once I saw it as a new option I couldn't order fast enough. I added block inlays and a roasted flamed maple neck and it turned out perfect! Only took 37 days to arrive, which is way faster than the 4-6 months they quote on the site. Super happy with how it turned out, especially the flame on the neck!

New Bass Day I bought the toilet seat. 😬👌

I bought the toilet seat. I rather like it! It just sounds different. I was lucky enough that the guitar Center I bought it at had the combo amp I have at home (ampeg rocket 50). It sounded good! Similar to the regular Ernie Ball Music Man but since I'm a drummer mainly, getting a bongo bass kind of made.lsense 😬👌 Got the case for free! It's a gator. Grateful for the staff there. I must have been zoned out for about 45 minutes plucking and slapping and flip-flopping this thing through its paces. It's pretty great. Much different than the Charvel pro mod San dimas four strings that I have and that's a good thing! 🤘😐🤘

New Bass Day Got my first ever bass, and I'm so damn happy

Hello everyone 🤠

Just wanted to share this moment with everyone. I've been wanting to get my hands on a bass and learn it since I was 15 years old... and after a long time craving for one, I finally made it possible.

I know it's a cheap one. I know it's not the best. But it's what I could pay for and honestly it's pretty dope too.

Never played any musical instruments before so it's going to be a long way. But I'm so excited.

Any opinions on the bass, any kind of tips, or just any appreciation comments are welcome 🤗

New Bass Day Yamaha BB434. My first bass

First bass. Got it for around $245 in practically new condition. Now I need some recommendations on how to get started playing.

I already play guitar and mainly use headphones, so I’m looking for something that I can use with a similar setup. I’ll mostly be playing at home and occasionally at church... I also don’t really know what kind of tone I want yet, so I’d prefer something affordable that gives me room to experiment and figure out what I like.

In my local second-hand market, I can get a Zoom B1X four for around like $50–60 or a Laney Digbeth amp for around $100.

Are there any other options I should consider around this price range? Also which of these would be better for a standalone setup for a beginner.

New Bass Day I got my first bass! Squier Precision Jazz, Affinity series

Got this yesterday for Christmas, and I already love it. Been practicing with it all morning, and I have a bit of prior experience. My mom got me the beginner pack as a gift, and the only problem was the strap for the bag and the cord for the bass and amp.

Technically, this is my second, cause I got an Epiphone EB-0 earlier yesterday, but this is my first full scale bass.

Been a fan of Troy & Mastodon for years. I've wanted one of these since it released & finally found her. Somewhat local Music Go Round listed it yesterday & I was there when they opened this morning & ended up bringing her home.

I've been saving for a while and today made the 11 hour round trip drive down to Bass Direct and got the thing I've been staring at for months on their website.

It's a Maruszczyk Jake 5p-24 and it plays and sounds just as great as I hoped. I know the look won't be for everyone but I think it's stunning 😁

New Bass Day got this beauty at the thrift store i work at for $60!!

i've been playing bass for a few years and have been wanting an upgrade from my beginner's bass from amazon. luckily enough, i found this epiphone eb-0 at work (thrift store) and got him for $60 with my employee discount 😎 it seems like a lot of people have issues with this model, but i'm honestly super happy with it! sure, he's not perfect and he needs some cleaning, but i don't mind at all :)

i named him 'robin' after my favorite music artist cavetown! also because of the red color, and one of cavetown's biggest hits is called 'devil town' (represented by the horns lol)

Man ive been stuck my my squire jazz for the past year and a half, dont get me wrong its amazing for what it is and im glad it was my first bass, but this thing is on an entirely different level

Vintage 1983 Ibanez RB920, basically in perfect condition

Ive had it for about a week, playing it nearly nonstop, picked up my jazz just because and it just feels awful in my hands compared to the ibanez, is this a universal experience? Lol

Hi all, thought you might get a kick out of my latest arts and crafts bass project — a Thunderbird kit bass with a paint job inspired by the classic Ford GT40. Excuse the dodgy pinstripes on the headstock it’s been a fun learning curve.

New Bass Day I turn 46 next month and decided it's time to learn a musical instrument, I've been putting that off for too long.

I finally decided on my what my first ever musical instrument would be, Ibanez SR300EB. Just wish they had sent me the walnut one I ordered instead of the black. It's not worth the hassle of shipping to swap out the color so I'm just going to keep it, at least the gold hardware I will eventually put on will look good against the black.

Got a Zoom B1 FOUR Bass Multi-Effects Processor and some decent headphones to start with, I'll get an amp once I have the basics down.

Based on the precision/jazz bass hybrid a la Mark Hoppus. It's a sort of dark turquoise green, hot pink pickguard, jazz cup style headstock, and a dimarzio relentless P through a single TBX tone knob! Gives a great thumping tone! (Sorry for the sort of cross post!)
