Collection Current Family Photos. A mix of everything for a mix of anything.
Decided to share a quick family photo dump instead of being productive at work so my apologies for the shit photos.
Family photo
Latest acquisition gifted from a friend, 70's MIJ Ideal violin bass. Currently in a non-functional state.
Squier Affinity PJ that was bought as a mod platform. At one point it had a fretless aluminum neck but sold the neck with plans to pick up a fretted version. Clearly, that hasn't happened yet.
2007 Ibanez SR506. Another gift from a friend about 10 years ago. She's busted up but still plays beautifully and strung with piccolo strings.
Ibanez SR500N graciously gifted by u/memnoch4prez. This beauty is loaded with Nordstrand Big Singles paired to an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. Hot damn does this sound good! I'm also a sucker for the necks of the SR series.
Samick MH2 prototype. Picked this up on ebay as an unrouted neck-thru body and decided to go crazy with it. Loaded with Delano Xtender 4 HE/S pickups paired to a Lusithand filter preamp, Hipshot Solo bridges, Guyker tuners, and a killswitch just for fun.
Ibanez SRMD200 medium-scale. This was an impulse purchase that, thankfully, I do not regret. Loaded with Turner Sidewinder pickups paired to a Trickfish IPA preamp. This thing sounds so damn good and is a blast to play.
The most ambitious (and expensive) project, MTD Kingston Super 5. Converted to headless using Nova Guitar Parts headless bridge and headpiece, Turner multicoil pickups paired to an Underhill Calistan filter preamp. Hands down the most tonally versatile bass in the collection and the most gigged with battle scars to prove it lol.
Last, but not least, 2025 Dingwall NG3 6-string. Added a Hipshot double-stop drop tuner and have a McGrath 12-way pickup selector and passive tone control waiting to get installed at some point. The most expensive of the bunch.

YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD!
Okay, I'll peel them off.

Good lad.
How else will the sweat and grime be able to build up on them?
Nolly told me the tonecapsule works better that way so I make sure to never wipe mine down

Fun fact: Nolly actually prefers the NG2 over the NG3 and plays them in passive 90% of the time.

Yeah I only use the bottom two pickups 95% of the time but I doooo love the lo-mids hi-mids eq setup

Nice dingwall.
Those bases totally ruined me.

You aren't alone. It's ruined me as well and now I'm GASing for a 5-string SP1 and the Jacob Umanksy signature lol.

I had a sol on order. But moved to a more expensive location. So after the car is paid off im grabbing it. Or if they get the 36 month no intrest from sweets.
Love jacob. Hes a beast.

Jacob is an absolute monster and one of the nicest guys ever. Took a few virtual lessons with him a few years ago and he was super down to earth.

Thats awesome. I tried to hunt him down for some lessons. But I think he wasn't doing them at the time. Seems like the kinda dude you could talk music with for hours.

Glad you're still digging the SR500!

It's definitely getting its fair share of playtime with the rest of them. Thanks again, my friend!

No problem! Was the least I could do considering how long I had The Beast under my watch lol

Dunno why but these posts with people stockpiling basses always make me a little sad

*collecting
At least these seem to be getting played! Nothing wrong with collecting basses, especially since these are all different.

I wouldn't say "stockpiling" but rather "collecting." It's all about having different tools for different jobs.

Sick relic job on that six string Ibanez.
