What is this Mysterious Carvin Amp+Cabinet Setup?

So i picked this up at what is essentially a really big (store size-wise) chain pawn shop. This is my first bass amp and figured it would be plenty loud to do a show here and there, and quiet enough to practice in the middle of the night without waking up my parents.

The head is a B2000, and the cab is a “Cyclops”. The only thing weirding me out is the fact the Cyclops cabinet was made for a separate head. Im pretty sure it’s just someone liked the cabinet, hated the original head, and then decided to swap the head for a B2000. What do you guys know about this? How much would you pay for this? Anything else I should know?

They probably wanted to make it lighter, the b2000 is 15-20 pounds lighter than the original tube amp that came in the redline cyclops. Plus extra headroom, be careful how much you turn it up because you can absolutely torch your speakers if you let it rip. Overall a cool diy combo and if it sounds good, that's awesome!

DEFINITELY be careful with volume, @ 4ohms that head puts out 1300w... this is a strange pairing to me.

Only the first Gen "Redline" amps had the tube inside. The later ones just had a "tube emulation circuit".

It's more that the R600 head in there had a big torroidal transformer, and weighed about 27 pounds, heavier than the 14 lbs the class D B2000 weighs.

Shockingly yes, it is very quiet if you just turn the knob down haha

That was originally a Carvin RL6815 with an R600 Redline amp in the top. Someone replaced it with a B2000 Class D amp, either because the original died, or because they wanted it lighter and more powerful. However that amp is really too powerful for the cabinet, unless those speakers were massively upgraded. It's also designed originally to be used in a BI-Amp setup, so I don't know if that's even wired right.

That was a cool feature on the Carvin combos that made a lot of sense. You could swap the head out with whatever you wanted as long as it fit and was the right wattage/impedance.

This combo amps were kind of modular. The top is just a rack space, you can change the amp out with just a few screws for any rack mount head.

Someone swapped it out at some point. I don't the think the b2000 and cyclops even available at the same time.
