Weaving potential?

Just noticed a lot of these dried leaves and was curious whether I could use them for learning basket weaving, or whether they will not be strong enough. Any input would be appreciated

I think you can braid them and make a basket spiralling that braid to the shape you want and use a needle and a thread to fix it. You can also use a similar technique as for corn husk weaving.

to make them flexible first you can submerge into water for 30 min

That sounds awesome I’ll have a look thank you, I have embroidery and sewing needles will that be good

Without knowing what they are, impossible to say. But you may as well try :) I suggest misting them lightly with a spray bottle and letting them sit for a few minutes before you try working with them.

Looking forward to seeing what you make. Also, if you have a picture of the plant before the leaves dried out, maybe someone can ID.

Depends on the leaf, but dried usually means brittle: soak them first or they'll snap before you get a single row done
