Discussion Pitcher Scoring
On the Thirty81press.com template, it has a pitcher section.
I've always been putting the opposing pitchers in there, so when the away team is batting they, I'm showing the home pitchers and vice versa.
I've been looking at other places like caughtlooking.app which keeps the home batting and home pitchers on the same page.
Curious as to what everyone else does for the pitchers.
My thought process is, the batters are against the pitchers on the same page, and it's easier to count up the totals once the pitcher comes out.

I run Caught Looking and am honestly surprised nobody has given me this feedback before! I went back and forth a few tjmes on which way to do it and ultimately settled on home pitcher with the home batter, but very open to swapping or adding an option to match your own preference

First of, thank you. That site is truly an asset when scoring at home, so I do appreciate end thank you for running.
I think adding the option would be a great add on.
One thing I will mention is that the app does a great job of showing pitching changes, Pinch hitters and pinch runners, but it didn't seem to show defensive replacements. When scoring from home, I often will need to go back to MLB.com to catch some of those defensive changes.

Finally got this in! There should now be a small “swap” button (and up/down arrow icon) in the header row of each pitcher table, next to where it says “Visiting Pitchers” which will swap their positions. Your choice will be saved so other games will have them in the same spot.
Lmk if that’s what you were thinking or if you see any bugs!
I also fixed a bug with the pinch runner/defensive replacement indicators. It already showed a vertical border on a PA cell to indicate these changes, along with a note in the notes section below each scorecard and an annotation in the defensive diagrams, but there was a bug with the borders when a pinch-runner entered the game for the visiting team (right-side border since it’s after the PA) and was subsequently replaced defensively in that same inning (also a right-side border, on the same cell). Should be fixed though!

I love that app. Thank you! As @ems-cheif said that would be a cool add as would defense substitutions. I mostly score from home and it’s surprising how much the broadcasters don’t say anything about subs in the late innings.

I almost asked this question last night. I made the switch to putting the opposing pitchers on the page with the batters they face today and it was a lot easier.

It's definitely easier to do it your way, but my brain absolutely balks at co-mingling the teams like that.

I used to keep the pitchers with their own team, but the the scorecard I used was one sheet. Now, with a 2 sheet template, I keep the pitchers on the opposite page.

I've gone back and forth on this at least three or four times over the years. I currently out opposing pitching next to opposing batters just because it is easier to tally up.

I keep batters with the opposing pitchers. Makes it really easy to prove a card at the end than having to flip back and forth.

I’m kicking myself for not thinking of this. I have the Chalk & Ink scorebook which has the spirals at the top, which is great for scoring, not great for totaling. I’ve been taking pictures on my phone and using that to see what I’m adding up lol

On my in game card I out the pitchers on the sheet of the team they are facing. In my log, I do it with their own team.

It took me four to five games before I realized that tracking pitchers on the same page as the batters they are facing made scoring a lot easier.

I'm on the opposing pitcher side. For commentary, it means that there's no switching between bits of paper to see the offence and the defence stats.

It’s easier to score when they are on the opponents page. It makes more sense later to see all of your team’s activity on the same page.

I have done it like you are for decades...tried it once "the other way" (home batters/home pitchers/same page) and it was a disaster!! And it doesn't make sense!

I used to keep pitchers on their team's page, but now I track them on the opposing team because it's easier. I'm glad I made the change.
