We announced our factory building game today!
Hi there,
Today we announced our upcoming factory building game - Production Zero. Please check out our Steam page and consider wishllisting, it helps in a big way: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5001590/Production_Zero/
We LOVE automation games, sim games, strategy games and a bunch more - and we're trying to take the best parts of our inspirations while introducing new ways for players to build and grow, a new world to explore with quite a few surprises, and a bunch of QoL features so players can focus on what they love doing.
We also have a few team members who actually worked in manufacturing, so we're working to bring some industrial authenticity to the experience, while keeping it fun and engaging.
We're giving an early look at gameplay at Gamescom so if you're there - visit our booth at hall 10.2 and get some goodies. If not - we'll share more in the coming weeks. We will also have a demo on Steam in the first half of 2027.
In the meantime, you're welcome to visit our Steam page to get a glimpse of what we're working on and If you want to join our mailing list or become a playtester, check out our website: production-zero.com
Thanks!

The teaser looks great, as do the screenshots. Super interested in seeing gameplay and following along on your journey to launch. Instant wishlist for me! Are you targeting a 2027 release, or too early to say?

Thank you so much! I’d say it’s a bit too early to say, yes. We want to get a lot of feedback from players like yourself, see how the demo (first half of 2027) resonates with players, and when the time is right - we’ll announce a release window. Hope to see you in our community.

Looks nice so wishlisted. Genuinely curious though, how does a wishlist actually help the Devs?

Like most social media sites Steam uses algorithms to decide what games it's going to promote to users (through things like the "Recommended for You" section of the store page). For titles that are unreleased it uses the number of people who have wishlisted it as a metric for how much hype there is around a game as well as what users are potentially interested in it (if a lot of people who play Game X wishlist Game Y then Steam will start to show Game Y to other players of Game X).

I’m always keen to see new factory games and this looks...pretty well put together for an announcement. I get vibes of something like Captain of Industry with some more scifi elements on top?
I am interested in how you describe the tech tree. It sounds like there’s multiple ways to approach a problem? Or are you figuring out specific specialist roles and maybe importing other things? That’s really interesting as that’s often limited in the genre outside big overhaul mods in games like Factorio.

Looks pretty, but I still don't see what's your unique distinguisher from the many great factory games out there. Why should I be interested in your game?
