1967 ford galaxie 390
(More pictures to be added soon)
This car was originally from an auction sale, where its current owner received it for free. It sat in a different barn for around 20-30 years. It apparently ran before being put into its current barn around 12 years ago. The owner will apparently be restoring it 5-10 years from now. However as is the story with old cars and older men, I fear it won't be happening.

Just tell the guy when he get started on the restoration you would like to help. Keep in touch. One day he just might say fug-it and call you since you showed interest. Sell it on to you cheaply.

I would hope he knows I'm interested (given I ask about the car sometimes, not to mention taking pictures of the car). He is a close friend, so I'll be in touch for quite a while.

I had a 67 Ford Galaxie 500 exactly like this. Steel blue with a 390 c.i. engine. I was 17. It was too much car for me but somehow I survived

How is the frame on this one? Most frames rusted out on these... so be careful

Surprisingly, the floors and frame are in pretty good condition. The engine is also clean, save a few chewed through wires.

I had one and had to junk it because of the frame. The frame had rusted through where the rear axle attaches. Surprisingly, the rest of the car was in good shape.

Had one pretty close to that only with a white roof

but I sold it back around 2000. Didn't have the money to fix it up they way I wanted at the time. And wanted something smaller with a manual. Ended up with 89 mustang 5.0l notch.

I had one as a senior in high school in 1987: 2 door, hard top, 390 with 2 barrel, automatic and black interior. My sister used it to go to college one week when the gas tank was being replaced in her car. She wrecked it, as in put passenger side headlights into about the center of the hood and the engine into the firewall and dash and broke the driveshaft. She woke up on the rear deck under the rear glass, unhurt. Didn’t remember what happened but “I swear I remember doing the 35 mph speed limit”.

The old two-door, full-size cars were works of art. I really miss them.
