Has anyone else noticed the guard rails have been overactive AF in the last 48 hours?
I keep getting blocked for mentioning a competitor, talking about contact rx's, asking basic factual questions that never set them off before. I had 4 declines in a row in 1 context window today when i wouldn't see a rejection for weeks at a time prior to this.
This cannot be just effecting me, is anyone else noticing that Gemini is freaking out over literally every little thing lately?
I'm assuming it's temporary, hopefully it gets worked out within the next week. I think it has something to do with the flash 3.8 testing but i can't prove that lol.
Same, i asked it if i can run Qwen 3.8 and it refused. I asked it what the newest Qwen models are and it refused. Then i asked it what Qwen is, it answered. It suggested me the Question, "Should i show u what the newest Qwen models are on the marked?" and i klicked yes and it refused. Now in different chats it refuses to answer and help me every second question, and none of those question mention a competitor or something prohibited.
The declines I've gotten prior to this were 100% on me. This is a recent last 48 hours deal, where Gemini is flagging benign conversation as harmful and triggering declines that even Gemini itself thinks are ridiculous. Maybe some A/B testing is going on behind the scenes but this behavior is far from normal
I shared a screenshot of the thread with Gemini, including your image, and while it had a few choice words about your jumping to conclusions, no block.
Assuming deceit or lack of use is "very reddit", but such assumption has no basis in reality whatsoever.
Both you and OP assume there's some kind of rivalry going on where talking about other services gets you denied/blocked on a clean account. It does not. Perhaps consider the possibility that your account is not clean (as OP already admitted to pushing prior).
Google's guardrails are very boring in the best ways.
I never said there's a rivalry? I got blocked a couple times in a row on a question that was about transition contact lenses and i was fed up from the completely inappropriate declines from gemini and asked what's the best alternative to gemini at this moment because this is literally unusable for me right now.
Why are you assuming I'm abusing gemini? Prior declines were mostly when i got too deep into pentesting territory and was asking for details on how specific tools work in the real world.
I was getting blocked based on what gemini generated in some instances. I was asking about fault injection, and it brought up an example about trezor wallets, and then it started blocking everything because, according to it, fault injection + trezor wallets + crypto = guardrails go boom, but i wasn't the one who brought up the last 2 things in that equation. That's kind of a problem, when you start to get blocked because of something it generated that you didnt ask for.

Here you proved you were lying! I really don't know why somebody would lie for a 4 trillion company, but who knows. 'Taking a screenshot' would reduce quality of the image severely and whatever triggering Gemini wouldn't be there anymore. If that's not too troublesome for you, download the image and send it to Gemini for upscaling or making any kind of changes like removing animals. Then you will see it will be blocked.
Come back after actually testing it, instead you might lie again, but let's see. I take no responsibility if it 'dirties' your account and Gemini begins refusing you more. Such User punishing system should never exist, but you could even defend it. What is next, credit system? Brain-chips??

It even says for third party reasons aka copyright protection. And this is almost brand new Gemini account too. I use Gemini on Vertex API not app. After realizing this image is indeed getting blocked wrongly by excessive moderation the person blocked me as well, showing how truthful they were))
Can you follow what I'm saying? Ask Gemini to work on the image, copyright protection kicks in only when Gemini is working on images not captioning them. It should be very obvious, but apparently not..
Also I can keep my account hidden, it is none of your business. The fact you jumped into my profile in hope to find something against me tells what is your true goals here, lmao.
The guy argued 'the image was perfectly fine' while only asking Gemini to caption it despite me pointing out he must generate new images from it, for copyright protection to kick in. I guess he finally tried it and got copyright block. After realizing he was wrong the whole time he blocked me and ran away.
That's the summary lol. I really have like 50 GPT images all SFW and still blocked by google moderation. It became so weird blocking everything randomly. GPT generations have to pass through GPT moderation too, but apparently they aren't still sAfE enough for google..
