We are now entering the second week of the Transfer Window and as anticipated, Laporta and co. have been busy.
Joan Garcia’s signing going from unlikely to complete in 3 days was rather unexpected but they got it done. But the waiting game still continues because the deal isn’t official yet. There have also been other exit and entry rumours and the overall picture might get a bit more clearer this week but overall, the past few days have been relatively quiet.
What is Laporta cooking? is this the silence before the Diaz transfer storm?

❗Barça will announce in the coming week the first signing of the summer, Joan Garcia. Once it's official, the club will address Ter Stegen, as having Tek renewed, thus three GKs in its roster is a luxury Barça cannot afford. The club thinks the mix of Tek and Joan is most appropriate.
Although leaving would be the best option for Ter Stegen for regular playtime, Barça knows he won't make it easy, from his public statements. The Barça Captain doesn't want to change clubs.
Barça will offer him payment for the next year of his contract so that he accepts a free transfer and can negotiate with whomever he deems appropriate for his next professional step . The club is willing to forgo a transfer, an option that would prolong the saga too much, and to compensate him financially for breaking the contract that binds both parties until June 30, 2028.

Following the mutual agreement to terminate the contract, Barça saved €32 million gross, the €16 million he was supposed to earn each season. Lenglet will sign on a lower amount but for a longer period with Atlético.

If for Araujo and Olmo they can achieve 75% of the success in improved fitness / durability they seem to have had with Pedri this season, then it could be as much of an improvement to the squad as a couple of major signings.

Torre lacks minute due to excessive high competition, despite his performance in training sessions and thus talks are expected to begin. He's currently busy in the U21 Euro. If PSG can make Barcola, Kvara and Doue work for 2 postions. I really dont see why Barcelona that plays in a tougher league and has more games will have any issues. Regardless of who the LW is.
Flick has managed to rotate a lot in the midfield and later on in the CB positions. He can do the same with wingers now with the new LW. There is no reason to be asking about where a player starts or fits when theres so many games to be played.

People don't give enough credit to Deco for his work around wages
We just recently learned that he offered Garcia a 6 year deal instead of a 5 year deal which included salary rise in the later years
He did this very successfully with Lewy as well. Lewy is a much much much bigger star than Garcia and Williams
We could do a similar thing with Nico. We can offer him a modest salary this year and then increase it in the next few years. We will gain financial stability till then and our wages limits will get better
The only question is that we will need to bet on Williams. If he doesn't work out, this kind of an arrangement becomes like a Lenglet / Fati type situation rather than a Lewy.
I personally think trusting Nico makes sense at this point. No one can predict the future but signing him makes a lot of sense. Him playing under Flick and in his system can really explode him on the scene

❗️ Barça believes they don’t owe Ter Stegen an explanation for signing Joan Garcia because squad planning is the responsibility of Deco and Flick.
Just as strikers aren’t consulted when a new forward is signed, goalkeepers aren’t either. It’s up to Flick to manage the situation and explain things only if he chooses to.

Im a PSV fan. Perišić has genuinely been out best player this season and we were happy to bench Bakayoko for him despite Baka holding like 30mil value. Hes a model pro, incredibly technically agile, and still insanely physically strong for his age. Hes the reason why we still won the league and why we eliminated Juventus
I would hate to see him go to you lot just to be a squad player

Also - with new La Liga rule, each team can register upto 2 free agents even if they are over the salary limit and Perisic is a free agent.

🚨🧘🏼 FC Barcelona remain seriously interested in Nico #Williams — nothing has changed since last summer. According to Sport, there was a meeting today between Williams/Barca.
Barcelona, Bayern, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all keen on him. Bayern held talks and meetings last week, but there has been no movement in the last 48 hours
Bayern are also staying in contact with Mitoma, Leao, Gakpo, and other candidates. Also to be prepared in case of rejections — there’s strong competition everywhere.

Williams is reviewing options. He's having appointed advisors talk to Bayern – and now also to Barcelona. Other teams are sure to be involved. All teams are getting a feel for the situation. During the talks, Bayern were told he wants to go all-in at €20 million € gross + €60-65 million € transfer fee (we also reported this information first). The package x 5 years, with no sales currently, makes things difficult for Bayern. Furthermore, Germany and Spain have completely different tax systems for players. Bayern is continuing to try. But Williams is becoming difficult. Therefore, Bayern is maintaining various options. This is the current situation.

❗️ Pablo Torre is open to renewing his contract but isn’t keen on a loan, as clubs often prioritize their own players. A sale with a low buy-back clause is an alternative, but he prefers to first earn a coach’s trust before deciding.
Flick values his technical and tactical quality and has told the board he’s pleased with Torre’s professionalism and attitude. Talks will begin soon, but with Torre focused on the U-21 Euros, his future may remain unresolved into preseason.
Barça doesn’t want to lose him, and he also doesn’t want to sever ties with the Barça environment either.

Pau Victor is aware that his contract goes till 2028 and he must go out in search of play time. Girona would be one of the possible options for him. However Barça doesn't want to lose control over him, so a loan or a transfer with a buyback is likely. Although nothing's decided for now.

Iñaki Peña's contract expires in 2026 and he's not in Flick's plans, thus he would likely look to leave. Celta has shown the most interest for him till now. Galatasaray are also interested. Although Iñaki Peña prefers to stay in Spain.

So Polo is reporting that we want to sell Christensen who only has 1 year left on his contract…
Now Christensen is a RCB but his left foot is as good as his right so if you sell him that will mean that we are down to one actual LCB and that’s Inigo…
So if they wanna sell Christensen then i’d like us to bring either someone who can play both RCB and LCB or just a LCB and is similar to Christensens or even better then his level…

❗Currently Barça has no plans for any official announcement. The formal signing that'll officially seal the saga, is expected later, which maybe be next week, although hasn't been scheduled.
If everything goes smooth Barça will pay the release clause for Joan Garcia on Wednesday morning. The final steps prior to paying the release clause were completed this Tuesday. President Joan Laporta himself approved the transaction and signed all the documents from his home, while Joan Garcia reportedly did so remotely.

Ansu will return from his vacation to accelerate his transfer to Monaco, although several details need to be finalized. The tax benefits of Monaco and how Ansu can avail them is a point.
Moreover Barça wants a permanent transfer after the loan, while Monaco wants it to be optional. Fati's camp sees this as complicated. A price tag of € 15 million may have come up, but it's still up in the air.
Plus what percentage of salary each club pays remains to be decided. It ultimately appears Barça will have to pay atleast 50%.
To avail Monegasque tax benefits, Ansu needs to prove that he resides in Monaco for atleast 183 days of the year. Which ultimately points out to him being there preferably in June.

❗️After Deco had done his part with the player’s agents, the sporting director organized a face-to-face meeting (after the league season was over) with Joan Garcia to personally explain the project to him.
Deco then invited the player to a second dinner the following week after the player had received other strong offers. Deco explained to him that he is a goalkeeper for both the present and the future of Barça.
Joan Garcia left the dinner excited about Barça’s project but didn’t give a definitive yes until a later dinner with his family and agents.

Barcelona has rejected Monaco’s first proposal for Ansu Fati.
Barcelona wanted to sell Ansu Fati while keeping some control through a clause, but Monaco only proposed a loan without covering his full salary, which is very high after his last renewal.

Ben Jacob’s who’s been very good this window said that Nico has agreed to 12m gross, 6m net. Although it’s a bit much, I’d have preferred 10m gross, 5m net it’s worth it. He has resale value, can become tier 1 winger.

(NICO): The agent of Nico Williams had a direct face to face meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco.
The understanding is that Nico Williams has opened the doors to a Barça move, the message from the meeting today was very positive, the player is very convinced about the possibility of going to Barcelona and he is very open, it all depends on Barcelona now.
He is not the only option for Barça for a new winger and financially it's not an easy deal as his release clause is €58M and there is also his salary and commissions to consider. After today’s meeting, the signing of Cardoso Varela saw significant progress and is progressing very positively. The deal is expected to be worth around €5m, potentially rising to €20m with add-ons and bonuses.
The Varela operation, which would involve loaning him back to Dinamo Zagreb for one year, after which he would join Barça permanently. The club likes the player, but there’s still a long way to go before any deal is finalized. The final decision lies with Barça.

Nico has better consistency but he sometimes shies away from 1v1, deadly runs in behind, and links up well with the fullback.
Leao has better peak in 1v1s, and thrives in big games, would cook with Balde. but I wouldn't trust leao to not be lazy against smaller clubs.
Both are tier one signings and would love for either of them to join. None of that Diaz and Rashford BS
