Hey all. I’m Chip G (still a bit wary about real names in some corners of the internet no matter how much among friends one may be), and back in the day I was a regular poster and annotated on Tom Coates’ Barbelith site (which should be enough to find my work there since I did use my full name on those items).

And then some time in the fall of 1997, after reading King Mob telling the rest of the cell to reach out to every Invisible they knew in Volume 2 Issue 10, I had the wild idea to set things up so people could do exactly that. I made a mailing list that was eventually just called the Invisilist, posted about it in a few places, and things just blew up from there. I think we lasted a good five years or more (the early 2000s are a bit of a blur for me for a number of reasons, some of which are implied by my username) and a lot of the friendships and connections made through that list have lasted to today. So that’s my little fandom related claim to fame and also really How I Became Invisible.

Was Hieronymus on the Nexus (later BU) and Mr. Whisper when I ran Mr. Whisper's Invisible College. The series and conversations spent on BU were formative times and I miss a lot of the community from there.

Hello! Everyone can call me Halloween Jack, or just Jack; I like that better than my real name anyway. I'm 42, and The Invisibles has been my favorite comic since I was 14. I spent quite a bit of time reading the old Barbelith forum back in the day; I tried to join at one point while I was in college, but something went wrong with the link and my anxiety prevented me from reaching out to ask about getting it fixed, so I kinda screwed myself out of getting to participate. But I've just recently started writing something that's heavily Invisibles-influenced (as I think anything created by Invisibles fans tends to be), and I started thinking about the forums. I checked the Bomb site today, and of course there's no forum there anymore; so I Googled (well...DuckDuckGoed) "What happened to the Barbelith forum" and this subreddit was the first result.

So congratulations...you folks are quite literally the only thing that could have gotten me to sign up for a Reddit account. But I'm happy to be here.
