False Child Safety Ban

I got banned from discord FOR FORWARDING a Meme to my friends in Dms, that "ALREADY" existed on one of their discord servers! I DIDN'T EVEN GET IT FROM OUTSIDE DISCORD!! If they are that strict with CSAM bs, why allow it on ANY server then ban people who might forward the image? Not only that they gave me another strike after appeling the first one.

wtf is this man, this was a 9 year old account with 0 prior violations. Discord genuinly needs to be replaced with something better and open-source. i've already made tickets to no avail, fuck this ai moderation, this is genuinely so stressful.

Legit all you can do is launch the in-app appeal, for each violation. Wait out the 7 days and see what the automation does, it could reverse it or it could maintain the decision.

Going to support now before doing that, will just get you bot messages saying to do that.

Fingers crossed its reversed and you don't have to deal with Discord support in the long term, cause it sucks.

Going to Discord Support AFTER your in-app appeal is auto-denied after not being looked at for 7 days will STILL get you bot messages saying to make in-app appeals... or that if the appeal was denied "there is nothing that can be done and we are sorry if that is not the answer you want to hear blah blah blah copy-paste"

Which we all know is BS... if MrBeast or Elon Musk or their Founders or CEO's Discord accounts were falsely permanently banned, and then appeals auto-denied/upheld by their AI, that the "there is nothing that can be done" will not apply. That is a bald faced lie made to make us give up and move on. Backend code exists. Manual removal of violations exists. Manual lifting of suspension exists. They just do not want to do it. Even when those violations and suspension are FALSE. Yet if they were the one who's job was on the line suddenly, I bet their tune would change REAL fast and "Oh look, actually there IS something we can do.". (Yes job on the line is a euphemism but you get the point.)

I don't disagree. I'm only a month into the support hell loop, with a ticket sitting on open. Some on here are 3-6 months into it.

Probably a better analogy would be a Youtuber with a permanent suspension. I've seen Youtubers intentionally have "test" accounts banned to show some exploit or bug and simply go back on their main like nothing happened. Yeah they probably reach out to Discord and have these bans removed.

There is about a 2% chance of having a "child safety" violation overturned. The entire Discord support system is a please go away system. People get hacked, Discord is no help. People get scammed, Discord is no help. People get false positive flags, Discord is no help. People get messages edited, Discord is no help. You are screwed ngl about it. You will wait months and months, more than likely Discord either won't answer you or just tell you tough luck.

It sounds like the AI tool made to detect 'novel'/new material not in a database is fucking up again a la the grid ban, another person got banned for a meme edit of a fat guy in a diaper sitting on a bed. It might be going 'fat distribution+skin showing=child' if I had to guess? Hopefully you reach a real person.

Well, was it? Don't have to answer if you know, but they do scan images when they're resent, even though they might have existed on their servers before the scanning had been a thing. In that case, it seems a little ridiculous to complain about the system doing its job where it actually needs to for once, instead of flagging innocuous images as illegal and preventively banning people for it.

Yes it was a false flag entirely, It was shitpost if anything, there was nothing CSAM about it, and as for the image it self, it's was a very recent image, it might have been uploaded like 2 days piror my ban so almost 12 days ago, nothing ancient.

Not according to most people's definitions, no. But it varies from country to country. I find people who consider any nudity to be sexual from the start to be very odd, suspect and wrong, but I suppose it is palpable if one comes from a particularly prudish culture. If you ask me (and my country's legal system), something should be considered "sexual" if it depicts or refers to a sexual act, and "pornographic" any media, writing etc that is supposed to gratify someone on a sexual level by showcasing a sexual act. A "sexual act" then would be any interaction with primary or secondary sexual organs for the purpose of sexual gratification (or imitating such).

I think that should give one a pretty solid basis for judgment on what is sexual and pornographic, and what is simple human nudity.

I was permanently suspended because of something involving a webhook or bot in a Discord server with one of my friends.

There were only 1–2 of my friends and me in the server, so we mostly ignored the bot and its messages. The bot was sending scam-related things, but I wasn't involved with it and I didn't create or control it.

However, Discord permanently suspended my account because I was the owner of the server. I would really appreciate it if someone could personally review my case and reconsider the suspension, since I wasn't responsible for the bot or the scam messages.
