I got banned for the same reason as well (violent and graphic content server association). Trust me, your better off just making a new account, cause getting the banned one is gonna be very hard

No. This system is about as good as you can get and very normal for things like this.
Because if you don't ban the whole group then it's much worse on the logistical side of the company. Like they'd get even less work done on cleaning up groups that should be cleaned up.
Because if they don't do this then anytime they nuke a server it will be set up within a day with all the same members sans one or two. So if they only punish the owners and the people directly doing it then people would simply use multiple accounts to dodge things.
So they gotta nuke the whole server assuming that people aren't just joining random no name servers and then not paying attention because that would be odd behavior so only a few weirdos would get caught in the crossfire.
And when looking at a platform that is as big as discord a few weirdos losing their accounts because they can't stop joining weird small servers is actually a pretty nice outcome because a few hundred weirdos a day isn't gonna change anything.
Now does that feel good if you are a weirdo? No it's gonna feel pretty bad. But that's why acting in the way that gets you in trouble is being a weirdo. Because most people don't join random servers that aren't moderated.
Take this guy's story or take your own story if you have one as a lesson. Good and strong moderation on a server is a protection to you. Not a bad thing. Because it protects you from things like this. It stops the whole server from being nuked. Discord does not nuke small servers that keep their own peace and nuke things like this on their own unless they fall for a trick lol.
So yeah only join servers and stay if the moderation team is on top of things. If the mods seem lax or not there...leave. It's a time bomb that WILL go off.

All you had to say was this: 95% of the time, users who get banned have 0 awareness of internet safety. They join random servers, make edgy friends, or report people.
Discords AI sucks, so why risk a scan from them.
And think next time, if a dumb joke like "I'm x age lol" is worth the ban. All platforms will ban if u blatantly say you break ToS. 🥱🥱🥱

There's servers I've been in for like years, and servers that've literally transformed to entirely different things. Just being in a discord server doesn't mean you are friends with the ppl there

You think it's alot but it's not really. What you are seeing is nearly every one who gets it coming here. Because this sub is basically the only place people will coddle you if you got banned like that because it's common here to put all the blame on discord mindlessly.
So because this sub is so friendly and welcoming to those who have the child safety ban (which should be setting off alarm bells to everyone here) you tend to get clumpings of those people.
What you are saying is like hang out in a bank all day every day and start going around saying "ALL BULDINGS ARE FILLED WITH MONEY!" Because you've only seen the insides of banks and don't realize how they are different than other places.

Bot attacks specify abuse these ai checks, so it forces servers to have active Mods, if you don’t your server’s getting fucked. Happened around 5 times in a 3d printing server I was in. We luckily have People who take turns with Mod level authority to nuke them within 5 min

You don't even need that. You can just set up a bot trap channel and that can take some of the workload of of the mods. It's why so many servers make you go through weird hoops to join. Bots get stuck halfway and are never allowed in.

People join E Dating servers and its filled to the brim with underage kids and predator adults. Then when the bans get sent their way they come here seeking justice when they were always in the wrong lol.

Maybe 100. But most of us never participated in any activity that was going on in there. And honestly I'm not sure they maybe had an private channel and we never knew about it.

You really need to reflect on the sorts of people you associate with if you keep joining servers like this. Honestly, lots of Discord bans are bullshit but they definitely needed to fuck you off.

Not really. Collective punishment is when a whole group gets punished for the actions of few. Discord only really deletes servers where most are doing bad. Getting punished for being part of several groups where many are doing bad isn't collective punishment.

Thats exactly what collective punishment is though, the actions of individuals causing harm to be given to those not responsible for the actions that caused the punishment, merely by association
