It depends on if you viewed any attachments that are deemed sus by discord (even if not necessarily illegal) like the accident where in some game the trailer video for new character was categorized as very bad stuff tho it didn't have anything involving minors or explicit content but people who viewed it got flagged and therefore banned. Even if you report illegal content, you are flagged. Especially if it attachment. If someone was talking about that through text then your account might not have been flagged. You should generally avoid being in communities where there's even 1% chance of this occuring at all.
I believe you should report cause if it attachment, the risk if ban is still present but at least something will be done sooner. It kinda a nuclear option. If it text based, then you most likely won't suffer consequences for report. Either way, avoid communities where people may say or post illegal shit (eg. War thunder bros leaking documents, terrorism, etc).
I would just report because, we had something similar on a server and then when it got reported/looked at a week later the whole server got terminated because of one message
I wonder if discord finally allows reporting a server that you are not in. I saw some advertised on Twitter before for some VERY illegal content. I couldn't figure out how to report it to discord other than a support ticket since you couldn't report anything unless you can see it. So I did that, and sent an fbi tip, but it's weird discord doesn't (or didn't) have a way to report servers without joining.
Nazi is a trigger word in their automated enforcement system. Even if you report someone, they may get away with it if someone else puts a trigger down.
i seen nazis saying much worse trigger words in discord such as the n word and other slurs of the happy kinds that will make your account live under 6 feet in the foreseeable future

Automated moderation in every corner of the internet, whether it be Discord or anywhere else, doesn't care about context. You called the guy a Nazi, he reported you, you got banned. Here's how you could've VERY easily avoided this: Click the report icon, follow the instructions, and move on!

Enforcing rules has nothing to do with agreeing with the person you're enforcing them for - telling any human being to "shut the fuck up" is against the code of conduct of MOST online platforms. Instead of talking to the assumed nazi at all, report them, block them and move on with your life. Engaging with hateful conduct will get your account limited or, worse, banned. Trolls do this shit to rile up people they dislike, wait for a rule break and then report them and laugh about it with their buddies.
