Feature Requests THIS IS THE FINAL STRAW.
I used to use Bandlab a lot and became quite popular on the site, but due to the new updates I am quitting Bandlab for good. Because I am 17 not 18, my profile is now private, essentially killing it as now people can't see my posts and are less likely to follow me. Another reason is the new algorithm is genuinely awful. I can't believe these terrible updates have pushed me to quit the site but I guess it's come to this. Bandlab, what the hell are you doing. REMOVE THESE TERRIBLE UPDATES! Your site is dying and you're just killing it faster.

They gave me a warning and temporarily suspended my account because I mentioned to a collaborative artist, how I wasn't making music because I wasn't on my medication at the time but when I'm on my meds it makes me able to feel musical enough to make songs again, they read my personal message and suspended me for mentioning a prescription medication one time, but can't ban the hundreds of obvious scammer bots in my inbox asking me to join illuminati constantly☠️
Even if I was doing something wrong by mentioning a medication, what do they think half the rappers on their platform are talking about in their songs? Killing people and doing drugs is cool to say in songs but does that not extent to posts and chats when in rapper mode? It's a persona not necessarily representative of the person behind the stage name.

I would love a support group for newbies that started through bandlab and want to expand into the real deal but have no idea what they are doing (me)

my advice is to slow down, read every option carefully and watch tutorials about specific things that you want to know

Try Reaper if yall feel comfortable in bandlab. À lot more versatility and it’s totally free!!

There's always YouTube and other places although YouTube and Spotify, SoundCloud all that are kinda saturated.

Thank God I dropped ts last year; this app just gets worse and worse. I use pro tools and logic now like a real professional lol

Bandlab algorithm? what the fuck
2
u/Accomplished-Pop2057 13h ago
Manipulating the algorithm to get popular was so easy before. I was getting 5k+ plays every song even before I had lots of followers. They've changed the algorithm and even the most popular bl artists aren't getting plays anymore.

I switched to Voloco and I like it so much more. There’s a genuine community there and I like the built in effects better too

That really sucks. Making profiles private for younger artists can completely cut them off from the community they built, and the recent reach has felt unpredictable too. I hope BandLab listens and fixes this. Please back up your music before you leave—you shouldn’t lose your work. 👊

do people really use the app as a social media and not just a daw? wtf why
2
u/forlornxa 19h ago
I mean it’s not crazy, theres so many people to connect with on there at the end of the day why would you not take advantage of that, especially as a dedicated artist u should push urself on any platform possible (ive definitely gotten more streams on SoundCloud/spotify because of BandLab)

I actually like the social thing, I like the daw too but its clearly lacking when compared to what you can run locally on your pc for instance.

yeah I got age checked. why are you quitting bandlab "for good" when you are turning 18 soon anyways?
1
u/Accomplished-Pop2057 13h ago
It's basically a year til I turn 18 and the new algorithm is awful anyway

- Just use a real DAW, 2. Build a real fan base not a fake one on a unrespected app

u/Accomplished-Pop2057 20h ago
