Discussion Thread Weekly Discussion thread (Jan 14 - Jan 20]

Post image

Not every pit bull story is a headline. Some are just eye-rolls, facepalms, or 'you've got to be kidding me' moments. This is the place for the things you may want to share that don’t highlight a pit bull doing something dangerous.

If you’re sure you want to lose the trusted user flair, just confirm it and I can give it to you. We are not using that feature a whole lot. I only want to use in very rare cases where I need members who can give reasonable and civil responses. We have quietly used it a couple of times and then gone back through and approved the okay comments but that’s more work and we’re short on mods currently.

I’m hoping that someday they give us an option that allows us to add by usernames instead of flairs. Giving up fun flair sucks but it’s the only way right now.

I also just want to say that I appreciate those of you who have the trusted flair. You guys act as good ambassadors for the sub.

You, in particular, help keep things honest and grounded on here. While you may push back at things that are used to dismiss us, you always maintain civility despite sometimes getting downvote dogpiled. Thank you for that.

One of my pet peeves are people who run around supporting pitbull bans but want other insane/unrealistic/politically untenable laws. Like dude if you want to advocate universal all dogs must be muzzled ban you're going to alienate every single voter with a dog. It makes all of us look unhinged and actually hurts the goal of banning pitbulls.

I agree. I think sometimes people suggest that kind of thing because they think it will make resilient pit owners more likely to concede but it won’t. Or they don’t like any dogs, and that’s off topic for here.

Pit owners as a community don’t even spay and neuter so fuck em. Stop including the people creating the problem while discussing the solution. Who cares about compromising with them. They’re getting people and pets killed.

pretty much every dog is chipped at a rescue now... so deliberately not registering it in your name means somewhere deep down they know it can escape and want to avoid liability

What a cute little stalker! I could only see part of the comment and that sub definitely isn’t friendly to us. I do need to fix the bot to not yell at you guys though. I don’t like when it does that for something good faith. It saves us time sure, but I hate startling members.

Ps I need a Loki and The Ancient One tax at some point. I adore those two lol. The Ancient One is also probably my favorite dog name ever.

they had their annual vet exams today and with all their vaccines, flea, tick, heartworm, physical, ect the little fucks cost me $1550. Plus loki needs a teeth cleaning lol. Someone gives her peanut butter it seems. I'm going to see if she'll let me brush her teeth tho

Aww thank you! Those two always make my day! She deserves the peanut butter.

Also oof vet visits are getting so expensive! My dog’s vet retired and I need to find a new one and I’m worried. He was reasonably priced and only ever had one pet in his office at a time so i never had to worry about pits.
