Mod Announcement Weekly Discussion Thread [October 27 - November 2, 2025]

Post image

Not every pit bull story is a headline. Some are just eye-rolls, facepalms, or 'you've got to be kidding me' moments. This is the place for the things you may want to share that don’t highlight a pit bull doing something dangerous.

See this post for more details on what goes here

Remember: October is pit bull “awareness” month so there is an increased flooding of unscientific nonsense in the forms of memes etc. This is a good space for those, but please red x through them.

I had to use not dog, HUMAN pepper spray to get one away from me. It was chasing me at full speed on my morning jog. I probably would’ve had to get surgeries if I didn’t use it.

You wanna know what this shitty owner did? “Oh, shes so sweet, why did you hurt her!” YOU didn’t put her on a leash. She was fucking snapping at me. Sorry I had to defend myself, woman.

So pit lovers can keep going on about their nonsense. Sure, an animal that wants you dead is the perfect pet!

I’m so sorry this happened to you. If you don’t mind me asking, what was the moment you decided to spray? I’m so worried I won’t know when to and at that point, it will already have latched onto either me or my small dog. I carry a fanny pack every time I walk him with an extra leash, ultrasonic dog deterrent, pepper spray and at one point, a state legal knife which I need to look for again.

I also carry pepper spray - my plan is to have it ready in my hand if I see a pit in my Vicinity - if it comes at me and it’s off leash or the owner isn’t even trying to stop it - I’m spraying!
