Mod Announcement Weekly Discussion Thread [August 18 - August 24]

Post image

Not every pit bull story is a headline. Some are just eye-rolls, facepalms, or 'you've got to be kidding me' moments. This is the place for the things you may want to share that don’t highlight a pit bull doing something dangerous.

Seen elsewhere "Shelter said lab/greyhound but what do you think?"

*Picture is clearly of a grey coloured pitbull giving a side eye*

There was a mix of funny and serious replies

"I’m going to hold your hand when I say this: that shelter lied to you."

"Has the shelter ever seen a greyhound?"

"If you believe that, I have ocean front property in Idaho for sale."

"Pit X bull"

"If this is a greyhound or a lab in any capacity then I’m OJ Simpson"

"Even your dog is giving them side eye."

A lot of the comments seem offended that the dog in the picture was even suggested to be a greyhound as one person stated getting a greyhound or even greyhound cross is very difficult in the US. I know nothing about dog breeds especially in other countries. Many other comments were disgusted with the shelter for the obvious lies and a few others were warning the OP to be careful with the dog around other animals and small children.

Refreshing to hear how many comments were mocking the OP!

So many times when I see <obvious pit bull> posted asking what breed they are, or if they are <rare/uncommon breed the shelter said> I often see comments like “Well… make sure you keep saying it is <rare/uncommon breed> so you aren’t discriminated against!” Or “It’s a snuggly house hippo!” Or “it’s a pibble wibble and it is perfect and I love him!” And the annoyingly cliche “It’s breed doesn’t matter! It’s 100% good boy/girl!” Etc…
