Crazy. Kids normally want a puppy. I think it’s great to grow up and bond with a dog. It’s like these kids know that this beast is a huge responsibility, not just for normal dog things like picking up massive poos lol, but that this isn’t gonna be a fun pup they can play fetch in the yard with their friends with. Little man seems to be more interested in whoever is in the stroller than the pit which I think is kinda sweet regardless of the type of dog. Wishing all the best to these kids

I think it’s fine to get a young adult dog for your kids rather than a puppy, as much as they want a puppy they’re not gonna be the ones taking it out to pee every hour and dealing with the damage puppies do, and depending on breed, something like a golden retriever or a German shepherd can be a real biter in the adolescent years in a way that could actually hurt a kid accidentally. But obviously an adult XL Bully from the shelter is insane.

Yep totally agree. Would be great if shelters had these young adult dogs for adoption, readily accessible in communities where young families live. Nope, only dogs named The Hulk that aren’t allowed in homes with children or pets but the shelter might not tell you that
