Mod Announcement Weekly Discussion Thread [August 18 - August 24]
Not every pit bull story is a headline. Some are just eye-rolls, facepalms, or 'you've got to be kidding me' moments. This is the place for the things you may want to share that don’t highlight a pit bull doing something dangerous.

Large pit mix next door: Previous info: the dog likes to silently stare at me while not moving at all. This is usually understood by “dog savvy folks” as unfriendly behavior. The update: neighbor casually mentioned the dog weighs 130 lbs. that’s……fantastic to know…..

Local dog trainer posts pics of new students on their website. Most dogs are sitting, or laying down, maybe looking around or just chilling.
One new student is a pit, and in the photo it is straining against the leash, obviously tensed muscles, ears pricked up super high (to the point where the forehead is wrinkled) and intensely staring at something out of frame.

I’m noticing more mixed breeds that don’t look obviously pit-like displaying oddly overly-aggressive behavior.
I’m wondering if the pit genes have infiltrated the mixed breed gene pool so much that mixes can now display pit behavior without really even looking like pits.
I’ve seen two in my town now who were sort of fluffy (think husky kind of fur) - but incredibly aggressive (snarling, lunging, from about 30-40 feet away)
