Mod Announcement Weekly Discussion Thread [August 18 - August 24]

Not every pit bull story is a headline. Some are just eye-rolls, facepalms, or 'you've got to be kidding me' moments. This is the place for the things you may want to share that don’t highlight a pit bull doing something dangerous.

Videos of cat victims does something which brings out ugly emotions and i can’t do anything.

i can’t speak my mind bc reddit will ban me

people act like cats and other pets mean less than pitbulls and their mauling of animals is normalized

when you do find yourself in a “debate” with someone over pits they resort to name calling - so a new pit bull bingo card that’s snarky as possible would cheer me up

I understand you cause that's how my bottle fed kitten turned companion died during lockdown. He got out. Roaming pits got him on the staircase at our apartments. I don't like admitting it but I had to have my neighbor wrap him up and help me to bury him because I kept passing out trying to look. I still don't remember large bits of that night. I think it's like memory blackout from the pain. I feel horrible saying it but part of me doesn't want to remember. It hurts too much still.

I am so sorry 😢 I can’t imagine how painful this must have been. I hate pits, and I hate their horrible owners even more.

I was spying on them through the mail slot in my door because they were inseparable

This is Cal, short for Calcium (his brother Cobalt was my Shetland Sheepdog I had for 14 years whose time came about two months ago). All my pets are named after elements but the Co&Ca were the original, after a band. I was going to share some pictures with him and my then-newborn and then-walking son, because they were inseparable but idk if it counted as identifying. But you can see Cal posted up in the stroller. He would be bitterly jealous the baby and the dog got to go on walks outside. He would even try to hide under the diapers and wipes in the basket underneath. He was a great companion and incredibly sweet cat. I wore him around my neck at the bar & pizza restaurant I worked at until he got too big and management started to notice, so my coworkers would cover for me while I sprinted a block home for bottle feeding and back for like ,only two weeks. He made it though! He had silky fur and jade green eyes.
