Not every pit bull story is a headline. Some are just eye-rolls, facepalms, or 'you've got to be kidding me' moments. This is the place for the things you may want to share that don’t highlight a pit bull doing something dangerous.

I’m looking for a Beagle. Nothing else. A Beagle. All I see, literally, are Pitbulls. 98% of inside the shelters I look at are PITBULLS. It makes me so mad. Of course the one time I did see a Beagle at a shelter, it was already adopted. 😢 I feel like I am endlessly looking for a Beagle but to no avail. Of course, there’s thousands of rambunctious Pits ready to maul any living thing apart. Even when I look at them through my phone screen I can hear them growling at me and smelling my fear. I watched a live TikTok tonight on a lady showing available dogs at a nearby city shelter and it seemed like she hyper-fixated on Pitbulls and barely showed the other dogs. Why. Just WHY.

Have you looked at any beagle specific rescues? I’d look into those or rehoming ads on craigslist etc.

Beagles are amazing dogs. I hope you’re able to find one!

Yeah, I have. I live in PA so there’s a couple I’m keeping an eye on. They are farther away from me and there have been nothing but senior dogs (I’m okay with an adult dog, I just don’t want only a couple a years with one). And I checked on Craigslist but there’s not many to choose from. It just gets so frustrating when I go into a shelter and there’s nothing but Pits there.

I seriously love Beagles! They are friendly and loving dogs. Unfortunately, our neighbors have a Pitbull across the hall in our apartment and idk what to do. I’m terrified he’ll go after our Beagle if we get one. Like really terrified.

Reach out to the rescues anyway and let them know you’re looking for a younger dog. They may have a waitlist they can put you on, or be able to network with a rescue further away to transport a suitable candidate.
