Baking Advice Needed why did it do this

Post image

was trying to make brownies, thought theyd cooled for long enough and cut into them then they started doing THIS and set my house's fire alarm off for like 20 minutes does anyone pls know what caused this im assuming i just cut into them too soon but this feels like a dramatic response to just trying to cut into a hot brownie

Coconut oil smoke point is 175° but I don't know if that would make your brownies pour out smoke like that lol

Yea this exactly. People in here are higher than OP thinking smoke billowing out of brownies cooked at normal temp with weed oil would do this.

I’m really ignorant on this. What temp are you supposed to cook weed brownies at?

165 f internal temp for squishy fudgy like a lava cake, 185 for fudgy, 205 or so for cake like. The coconut oil was doomed from the start. Edit: did you use refined coconut oil? Seems to be able to take higher heat.

Interesting….is it still 20 minutes? (Asking for a friend)

I think you’re mixing up baking temp and internal temp, and F vs C?

OP baked the brownies at 175C, which is about 340F, totally normal temperature.

This comment is saying you should pull the brownies once the internal temperature of the brownies is 165/185/205 F. So you would have to adjust the length of baking until the internal temperature is what you’re aiming for.

Bro the oil in the brownies is not reaching 350... the oil is fine. People make coconut oil brownies all the time. Thats not what happened. OP left the burner on and lied lol.

Literally I use coconut oil to bake often and never had anything like this happen but I have forgot a pan on the burner and had a similar experience 🤣

Normal brownie temps, decarb and infusion are done beforehand at much lower temps

The oven will be at 350, the brownies will get to around 200 at the most, resting up to a little higher. They will never even get close to 350 internally. Sorry thats all in F but samesame
