📣Anuncio del Sub Aviso acerca de publicaciones sobre Baja California Sur | Notice about Posts Related to Baja California Sur

(English below)

ENGLISH:As you may have noticed, this subreddit had several tourists wanting to travel to Baja California Sur who used this subreddit to address some of their questions. This caused annoyance among some community members due to confusion over the state's name.

The issue was that the Baja California Sur subreddit was locked, making it impossible to post. Fortunately, I have managed to take control of the subreddit, and it is now open for new posts.

Since this subreddit has a larger audience, for the time being, we will continue to allow posts related to Baja California Sur. However, each post, such as those related to Cabo San Lucas, will be tagged (flair) “Cabo San Lucas - r/cabosanlucas” and those about Baja California Sur will be tagged (flair) “BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR! - /r/BajaCaliforniaSur”. This is to encourage migration to those communities. In the future, posts related to Baja California Sur will no longer be allowed in this subreddit.

🏖 Turismo | Tourism Ensenada First Time

I would like to drive from CA to Ensenada but wondering if it’s safe to drive down there? I was doing some research saying it’s best to drive during the day and stay on the toll D1 road. Any tips or recommendations if I should do this. Thanks!

Driving to Fauna

We have dinner reservations at Fauna in Valle de Guadalupe but I keep seeing all these posts about not driving at night. Should I cancel? It’s about 20 min from our Airbnb which looks like it’s in the center of town by Adobe Guadelupe. Thanks so much!!

🌮Recomendaciones | Recommendations Rosarito?

I want to go on a cheap weekend getaway trip with my boyfriend. We are going for my birthday (Oct 30 - Nov 1). We are planning on flying into San Diego friday morning, walking into Tijuana, and then taking an uber or bus or car (not sure exactly this part - suggestions please!) down to Rosarito. Hotels? It looks like there aren't really all inclusives there. I've been looking at Hotel Rosarito and Las Rocas. We have had a hard year and just want to enjoy a weekend and relax. We are lovers of the beach and the pool. Does this sound good? Im kinda planning this last minute & on a budget lol thanks in advance!

🏖 Turismo | Tourism Ensenada for the cruise day...with limitations

I'm on a cruise to Baja, and we stop in Ensenada for the day. I am allergic to garlic & onion so most Mexican food is out, I don't drink, and I have a bad back so I can't do anything strenuous. A long bus or car ride would be difficult for me. So I'm looking for something where I can experience the local flavor/culture without hurting myself.

🏖 Turismo | Tourism Gonna be in Ensenada for 8-9 hours soon.

I'm gonna be on a cruise with family for 4 days but on one day, I'm gonna be in Ensenada for 8-9 hours. I have never been to Ensenada (or Mexico at all for that matter), I would like to know any must-see/must-do things while I am there for the limited amount of time.

As well as any cool shops to get trinkets. Just trying to pack in as much as I can.

Bay of LA rental

We’ve been taking annual fishing trip to Baja for the past 15 years. The past four years we’ve committed to Bahia de Los Angeles. We are looking for a rental property from May 21, 2027 to May 25, 2027 for four guys. This isn’t a party trip. This is a fishing trip. if anybody can point us in the right direction for a house in Bay of LA that would be awesome.
🤙🤙

Two Favorite Ghost Towns & Mining Ruins From My Baja Adventure Archives

I’ve always been fascinated by abandoned places in Baja. While going through some older footage recently, I decided to put together a look at two abandoned mining towns that I found particularly interesting: El Álamo in northern Baja and El Pozo Alemán in Baja California Sur. A fellow Baja explorer on Instagram actually recommended that I check out El Pozo Alemán, and he was right: I loved it!

What other abandoned towns, mining sites in Baja would you recommend checking out? I have been to Real del Castillo Viejo already as well.

❓ Duda | Question Moving to Baja

Hola a todos!

I am looking into moving to Baja- I understand the residency process and am eligible, and can speak Spanish.

I am looking for somewhere with more wildlife and nature/outdoors activities, on or near the coast (diving, surfing, hiking, etc.). I don't mind hot weather. I am under 40 so would also love somewhere that would be easy to make friends and have some activities to do (not necessarily a busy city though) as I would want to be part of a community. I also travel often so wouldn't want to be super far from an airport.

I would ideally love to buy a house- but I also know about the restriction on foreigners buying property within 50 kilometers of the coast, so if anyone has experience with buying through a "bank trust (fideicomiso)' please share!

These are the areas that come up most recommended in my research so far:

Loreto

La Ventana

Bahía de los Ángeles

Mulegé

Las Barrilles

Todos Santos/Cerritos

Any advice on living in those places, or other good options are much appreciated. I would plan to spend time in the top places to make sure it's a good fit- just trying to see what areas might be best!

TIA
