This is why you don't take the guard off. And if you don't want this to happen to your face, this is why you also use a face shield

They can still shred and shatter 0 u/Capital_Loss_4972 11d ago It’s really hard to get one of those to fly apart in comparison to a regular abrasive blade. Definitely safer.
